Iv'e always wanted an Alienware after hearing about their powerful and reliable products. One of the things that brought to this laptop was it's thin and super sleek design with its LEDs and many vent holes. When i got it out of the box and started it up for the first time, i only had one minor issue. The issue i had was bluetooth, it keep disconnecting from my mouse and headset. But it was a simple issue and simple fix. It had to do the dolby access app that comes with the laptop. I turned it off, then turned it back on well as ran a troubleshooter. After that i had no issues with the bluetooth. From my experience it seems to be a common thing with laptops that have some form of dolby. My old acer had a similar issue, and was pretty much the same fix. Also, from my experience things like that may happen because you're getting a laptop with all default settings being used for the first time, it just takes a little tweaking, laptops won't be perfect when you first boot them up. With that said, what are my thoughts on this laptop? Well if you need something small and sleek with great power, you can't really go wrong with this one. Alienware is known for gaming performance, and it runs like a champ!!! I get about 80 fps in watchdogs legion with max settings. This is with the rtx 3070ti and AMD ryzen 9 6900 HX version with 32 gig ram. Build quality, build quality lives up to alienware's reputation of high quality. Everything feels very solid as it should be. The sceen has just a slight flex as to be expected with screens, but it doesn't feel like it's coming come off anytime soon. Fingerprints, the laptop doesn't really show fingerprints, but marks will show from time to time if you're like me who has oily skin. So make sure to keep it clean! Cooling, as stated before this laptop has lots of vent holes. And it does prove to be helpful!! Yes the fans can be a little noisy at times, but that's what you can expect from something packing this much power into a laptop. Plus, you can always change the fan settings in the command center if you need. The keyboard, so far i LOVE the cherry keyboard, it's on the louder side and may not be to everyone's taste. But personally, i find the keys to be fast and responsive with them having actual springs and not just membranes like so many other keyboards. The screen, i love the screen with the resolution being 2560x1440 at a max of 240 hz. The pixels are very small giving a clean and clear quality. And the 240 hz makes it very responsive, this is a big step up from my old acer nitro 5 that only had a max of 60 hz!! The battery: The battery will last a decent deal of time, but i wouldn't expect your jaw to drop, this is a power-hungry machine Afterall. The LED's, what can i say I'm a sucker for anything with lights. And this unit has lots of them if you're onto that. You can customize the color of every single key/ the alien head and the lights around the exhausts on the back. You can even have a theme for each game that will automatically turn on when you load your game up!!! Overall i LOVE this beast. Sure its not for everyone and thats fine. But i personally find this a great choice for the money and the amount of technology you get.

UPDATE (12/7/22): I won't update after this but felt I should add that I received the laptop back from "Repair" (for the second time) two days ago. I had an issue last night where it won't restart with an external mouse connected. Got on tech chat and they are sending someone out to replace the motherboard AGAIN. So, this will be the third one for a computer I ordered on 9/3/22. If you have $2000 to gamble, go for it. But you might have better odds at the blackjack table. UPDATE (11/26/22): I’m removing one star because I can’t take two. Less than a month after getting this computer back from Dell (motherboard crashed and was replaced), I went to turn it on this morning and found it was, once again, completely unresponsive. Ran through all the same troubleshooting alone and again with Dell before being told to send it in again. So I’ve owned this for about 3 months and gotten about 6-7 weeks use out of it. This is ridiculous. Reading through other reviews I see I’m not the only one with issues like this but Dell mgr told me today there were “no known problems with this model.” I’m pretty ticked. This is my 3rd AW computer and definitely my last. I will update again if it turns out to be something other than motherboard or if their customer service miraculously improves. The two stars are because it's relatively fast, the screen is good, and the keyboard is the most comfortable laptop keyboard I've ever used. I've owned this m15 (AMD) since mid-September and the motherboard crapped out on me by mid-October. I sent it in for repairs, which that's great and all that it's covered, but it was right at a month old. I'd traveled with it up to that point so basically used it for a few hours at a time (documents, photos, internet) on the road. I noticed it was much heavier than other laptops but figured it's because it's so powerful. (Turns out when I shipped it back, it's just over 12 lbs altogether.) I didn't get to explore much or game with it up to that point. I was really excited to get it back yesterday, but it's been a mess to figure out which drivers I need to re-install. The diagnostics and update search on Dell's website no longer work for it. "Cannot complete..." Once I was finally able to get the Alienware apps back, I made a little more progress getting it set back up. I left the laptop on my desk with the lid closed, on Sleep for half an hour. On a whim, I checked the temps and found that it was running at 118 degrees F, set on "Balanced," with only email left open. Sadly, there is no hibernate option. I have a larger, 240 hz monitor I wanted to use when I'm working or gaming at home, but I can't keep the lid closed because the temps soar. So I'd need the space for it to be open and for the other monitor to be next to it, rather than tucking it under the monitor riser. It's just altogether disappointing and I honestly wish I hadn't bought it. It's not real portable and doesn't substitute for a PC in the way I needed it to. Sadly, this is the second Alienware computer I've felt this way about so I am likely looking for another brand but I'm stuck with a $2000 clunker for now. I'll make do, but how long can I expect it to last given that it bakes even when asleep?

This gaming beast gets the job done for work and play. Your here because you're a gamer so let's get that out of the way right now! For gaming it has an RTX 3070 ti which handles any triple A title I throw at it, just finished up God of War on ultra in1440p was getting aa solid 75 fps. It handled it great and getting ready for Spider-Man Remastered next week. For my job we only do photo editing which this machine handles like a champ obliviously. I have to be honest this is my first experience with the red brand meaning the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor which has been outstanding. The screen which is QHD (2560x1440) and at 240Hz its buttery smooth, the speakers are fair that's an area Alienware and Dell can improve on in the future even though most gamers used a headset but still the speakers are fine. But the mechanical per light keyboard is the best laptop keyboard I've ever typed on its only rival is the Apple Magic keyboard on its new M1 and M2 lines, trust me it's a pleasure to type and game on. With 32 gb of DDR 5 ram and a 1TB ssd nvme your set to game immediately. CONS The only cons I can come up with are the "average" speakers and the battery life. Now the battery life is fine if not unimpressive, 4 hours doing daily task but maybe a little over 2 hours gaming, if you want to use this machine, you'll need to have it connected with that hefty power adapter to reach its full potential, which is not shocking for any gaming laptop. In conclusion I will mention the price. Is it an expensive piece of tech? Absolutely. But in life, usually we get what we pay for and in this case, you're paying for an outstanding premium gaming machine that is a killer desktop replacement that is light enough to travel with (7.5 pounds when you combine the laptop and adapter). And what can't be forgotten is Dell's terrific customer service, so as long as your machine is under warranty, you're guaranteed a working machine. So, in other words go for it you won't be disappointed.

Edit - This required multiple service tickets with 2 motherboard replacements for 2 different graphics card problems. Make sure you keep on it in the first year while it's still under warranty and get any hardware issues completely resolved. I do still like it a lot, especially now that the graphics are finally working properly. Yup, it's big, heavy, and also loud and hot if you get into a game with very much pizazz. The keyboard is 1000% clicky clacky. And it is a glorious beast. Videos are beautiful and sound great to watch (and they don't force the fan into overdrive). I bought it to play Ark. It does so nicely. Also loudly and hotly, lol. Still does better than the desktop I have. Battery seems average. This monster is heavy and not as mobile as some laptops but I bought it to sit on the couch and play games or surf the web. I keep it plugged in most of the time.

This laptop is an absolute unit of a gaming laptop. I went with the 3070 TI version with a Ryzen 6900HX and let me tell you, it is SNAPPY. I travel a lot for work and needed something that could heavily multi-task while also providing bar none gaming on the go. Benefits: Extremely fast and responsive 240HZ refresh rate monitor is butter keyboard is the best typing experince i have had on a laptop Feels premium (no deck flex or wobble) Pitfalls When gaming, the fans REALLY ramp up making quite a bit of noise A real chonker (heavy) DO NOT try to fit this into a standard 15.6 in travel backpack. It will poke out the sides. Get a 17 backpack instead. Overall i am trhilled with the performance. I have not had any issues yet but will provide update in a few weeks.
