Just sitting in a drawer in decent humidity.............a l-o-o-n-g time; in the pot, about 1-2 months. Simply place in pot according to pot size dimensions and leave the tip top so you can see it (them) and after some time pick it up and see if there is product. If gone, push tip into the dirt all the way and be ready to add more when gone, IF, that is, there is need for more fertilizer.
