Pretty and does the job
Love the portmeirion products and needed a new bread knife. It did not disappoint. Cuts through my artisan loaves with no problem. Arrived promptly in adequate packaging. Only downside is that hand washing is advised but should be that way for all good knives anyway.

looks great! works ok.
Of course I had to buy this bread knife because it matches my dishes. It's ok. the handle is beautiful. The weight of the knife is ok. But the knife tends to tear bread rather than slicing it - making it difficult to cut a neat slice of bread.

Looks lovely, works poorly
Beautiful. Arrives in an equally beautiful gift box. Unfortunately, the manufacturing quality needs a bit of work. There was a glob of glue permanently affixed to the elegant floral handle. Then there is the performance issue. The knife does not make clean cuts through a loaf of bread and does not deal well with medium-to-hard crust, sending crumbs all over the countertop. Returned this, because it cannot compare to our old, out-of-production Kyocera ceramic bread knife, which makes exquisite cuts through loaf after loaf. To be fair, the Kyocera cost considerably more.

Best Bread Knife Ever
The best bread knife you will ever own. Forget the others. I've had one for 30 years and it is still fabulous. Just bought some for gifts.

Handle broke off
Although the product is pretty and cuts bread fairly well, the handle broke off after 3 months of use.
