Awesome
My 6 year old daughter has 5 teenage brothers so she has lots of hand-me-down toys. She likes Legos but she's mostly done free-style creations. She's also obsessed with calendars and much to my chagrin, Christmas. I've looked at the Lego advent calendars in years past but they were just too expensive to do x5 or 6. This year, I caught a lightning deal and figured the little one would be the only one to care. I'm not into the "everything pink for girls" mentality but when I looked at the available options, the Friends set was the most Christmasy. It's probably the one I'd have chosen for one of my boys when they were younger too. I got it weeks before Dec. 1 and had to just sit on it but when I brought it out, my daughter was over the moon. Every morning in December, she woke up, came to give me a hug, and told me she needed to go do her Lego for the day. Every night before bed, she double checked how many days were left until Christmas.Because she's mostly only done freestyle Lego stuff, the first few days, I had to help her understand the instructions a little. That didn't last long at all. I might have been a little disappointed the first time she came to show me the creation she'd made without even telling me so I could be there with her. There was one where the instructions were a little frustrating but we figured it out.Every day's project included extra pieces which got a little amusing because she insisted on using every piece (Hello snowman that included an extra carrot!)She was so proud to hang each of her Lego creations on the Christmas tree though and when her brothers came home from the other parent's house (blended family) she couldn't wait to show them what she'd made and how many days were left till Christmas.I will definitely be watching for deals on past years' calendars or next year's that appeal to us because this calendar was pretty much the highlight of my daughter's (and in turn, my) Christmas this year. At the full MSRP, I'm not 100% but if I see any little discount, I'll be grabbing one for next year.

Lots of fun
My 8 year old has loved this calander. I have waited til will we partially thru it to write the review so I could gauge her response. It is the highlight of the day for her. She is able to assemble the product each day without help and within 1-2 minutes. The ornaments are great and will look great on her mini tree she has in her room. I have seen complaints from others about not having any actual friends characters in the box, but to be honest, I didn’t expect any. because the description on the sellers listing, as well as the box itself, and the actual Lego sight all show what is in the box. MINI-ORNAMENTS. We loved it.

Fun for Christmas
We bought this for Christmas for our 4 year old. The legos are a little tight and sometimes hard to snap it but still she's enjoying putting them together each day. It comes in a box with windows to open and each day is a new surprise. Take out the package, build it and then hang the ornaments on a tree. Not sure if it's a default of my box but there's not string to hang the ornaments. Each ornament also comes with a strange number of extra pieces. We're collecting all the extras to make something fun and unique at the end.

Love the ornaments!
I got the Friends versions and looked closely at the item before ordering it so I knew I was getting a different ornament to make each day and that's exactly why I ordered it.I was a little nervous on the first day, because there is just a picture, no instructions, but by the second day, my 6yo figured out easily how to use the picture to build.Big hit with my kids. And big hit with me, as the Legos are on the tree not cluttering up the floor or table.

My Daughter loved this!
Update:Including a picture of Day 1. Pieces are bigger that we thought. My daughter just loves it, wakes up every morning excited to open a new box and build her lego ornament. My daughter is super excited with this adevnt calendar. She has not opened yet as I bought for this upcoming Christmas. But she is very excited and the lego pieces look adorable. We don't mind that it doesn't bring any characters, we love the fact that you build the decorations and can then put then on your Christmas Tree.

Get baggies and cut off pictures if you want to rebuild later.
Daughter loved these! Only downside is that you open a slot one at a tie to build (like an advent calendar or something) the picture on the inside of the slot is how you build it. Once you throw the box away you don’t have picture to rebuild. I tore the picture off of all of the slots and put them in ziplocks in order to rebuild if she wanted too. But she loved all the different fun Christmas themed building that was going on

Fun Advent calendar option for elementary-age kids
My daughter loves the Lego Friends Afvemt Calendar (2018 version); she’s almost 5 years old and a few of the daily sets have been a wee bit advanced for her, but they've made for a fun activity each morning after breakfast and we work on the more complicated ones together. Most of the finished pieces have a small ring on them that will allow a thin ribbon or some yarn to be threaded through to hang them up on a tree or a garland, which is cute.

Excited about this year's builds
This is for the Friends Lego Advent calendar. I really like this year's kit because it incorporates more pieces and therefore more builds (500 pieces almost twice the previous years) and allows girls to use their builds as ornaments. Sure getting mini figs and setting a scene is fun but in years past it was not very cost effective for the amount of pieces included. It was cheaper to buy my grand daughter a regular Friends set the last several years. Thank you Lego for trying something different.
