OtterBox 77-22527 Defender RealTree Series Case for iPhone 5 - Retail Packaging - Max 4HD BLAZED Orange

This otterBox case is a huge step up in quality and design from the model for the previous iphone. The plastic shell fits snug and secures well, there is padding on the inside. The rubber bumper is a much higher quality material than previous models and after several months of use the bumper has still fits tightly to the case unlike my last otterbox. The artwork is clear and vibrant. I have dropped my phone onto concrete several times and detected only the slightest scuff in the bumper and no damage to my phone. I have spilled sticky beverages on the case and it protected the phone from damage. The case makes the phone bigger but It is slimmer than previous models and I can still fit this one in my jeans pocket. I would highly recommend this product to anyone desiring a quality functional case for their iphone 5. Edit: Six months have passed since I entrusted this case to protect my phone. The phone is in pristine condition. The case shows only the slightest hint of wear and the fit is still snug. I have removed the case several times to inspect the phone and this has not altered the fit in any negative way. I use the charging port and the headphone jack on a daily basis I also use the mute button on my phone several times a day. All the dust covers protecting these ports and switches are intact and still functional. They are not loose and do not open ever unless I specifically manipulate them. I still highly recommend this product to anyone with an Iphone 5.

I have tried a number of cases to protect my phone but once I purchased the Defender case I never even bothered to look at other cases. This is the second Defender case I have purchased for my iPhone 5 identical to the first one. The orange case was not my first choice but it was all they had at Radio Shack when I bought my phone. My previous cases were black and I was always losing my phone and the orange case really stands out. The reason why I had to buy a second case after a year and a half is I am really hard on my phone. It goes in my pocket with change and lighter and finds it way to the floor more often than I like. The plastic screen protector got pretty scratched up and it was getting difficult to read the screen in sunlight. Once I got the new Defender case it was like a new phone again, I could really see the screen. I paid 60 bucks for the first case and was hoping the price had come down for the second case but saw they were hovering around the $50.00 and I was ready to buy but got interrupted and held off for a few hours when I went back to Amazon there was a vendor selling it for $16.95 and I wondered how they were selling it so cheap but checked out the vendor and they had good ratings so I bought it. I live in the Virgin Islands so I thought it would take a week or more for it to arrive but I got it in about three days and it was in perfect condition and not a knock off. Definitely recommend this vendor and of course this case, pretty bullet proof. I get a lot of compliments on the color and style.

Great product and fast delivery

This is my third or fourth Otterbox purchased for various editions of the iPhone, and it's always been a good solid product. They do eventually wear out, get grimy, and through use the screen protector will get dinged and visibly damaged. But that's the point...the screen protector (and case) get the abuse and not your phone. After being dropped, kicked, and any kind of abuse you can think of on gravel, pavement, mud, etc. the phone has always continued to look like new and function well. Can't be submerged in water, but does a great job even on humid days when it's in your pocket and your sweat causes condensation all over the screen and case. I'll continue to purchase Otterbox as protection for my phones whenever available.

I gave this case a 5 start for the following reasons: - Nice sleek styling - Feels tough, and rugged. No cheap materials here - Easy to get phone in and out of - Phone feels safe in it I never was a fan of the OtterBox cases. The color scheme sold me on this one (Camo\Blaze). I had been looking for one that had camo on it and it was on sale so I took the plunge. I a believer now! I truly feel I could throw my phone down the road and it would survive. I was tired of purchasing cheap cases every 4-6 months when they break. I have no doubt that this case is made solidly enough that I will not have to replace it.

I read a lot of reviews from people who said they had copycat cases from Amazon. I ordered mine and it is genuine Otterbox in genuine Otterbox packaging. Got a great price on it and was shipped fast. This is my 3rd Otterbox case and have had great luck with them. I use 1 for work and the other 2 for going out. I am a painter and carpenter, so my work Otterbox takes a beating. Drywall dust, sawdust, etc. on the jobsites I work are hard on a phone, but my Otterbox protects it great! I just take it out of the case once every week or 2 and clean them up. My iphone 5 still looks as new as it did 1 year ago. 5 stars for Otterbox and Amazon!

This is the third Otterbox Defender case I've bought. Started first with a Blackberry, then a Motorola Milestone X and now the iPhone 5 in the Realtree Camo/Blaze Orange. I can attest to the protective strength of these cases as I was at a NASCAR Race last year and had an Otterbox Defender on my Motorola. It fell out of my hand at the top of the bleachers in Victory Lane and hit the concrete over ten feet below. Other than some scuffing on the corner & edge of the case, not a thing happened to my phone. I believe if you aren't going to be scuba diving and talking on your cell phone at the same time, you don't need a water proof case that will cost you a lot more than the Otterbox Defender. I will be nothing but an Otterbox case customer for life and you should too. P.S. I would give this TEN STARS, but Amazon only provided me with 5.

As usual this case is extremely durable and does well to protect the phone. The main issue is dust and dirt constantly get between the screen protector and the phone through the home button hole in the screen protector. Yeah, it enables you to use the fingerprint log-in thing but I don't use that feature. I wish it still had the rubber closure on the home button to keep dirt out.
