Huge colorful 55" parrot kite!
I ordered this awesome 55" parrot kite for my nephew. He loves anything bright and colorful. My sister mentioned she was considering getting him his first kite for them to test out. He is autistic and tends to stick to the same things ao she is trying to get him to try new things. She stated this kite was a ahuge hit. He got so excited when he saw it and wanted to go outside right away. They waited till it was a tad windy to take it out to test it. It took a few tries for them to get it flying but that was user error not the kite.

This kite Falls Apart
DO NOT BUY THIS. This kite’s edges fray within five minutes of flight. Its airframe is poorly suited for flight. Its design also took a lot of tweaking to get it airborne. Two of the pieces of its frame fell out the first time I tried to use it. I had to comb the park where I first flew it to find the missing sections. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME, EFFORT AND MONEY.

Doesn't stay up for long (updated)
Assembly instructions could be clearer but otherwise not so bad. The kite does not fly for long. It's up for a few seconds and it crashes, or rather it is dashed to the ground. I suspect a design flaw.Update: I moved the knot closer to the top of the kite and got better results.

Looks nice, does not fly well
Being in Puerto Rico the parrot was the perfect design; however, it did not stay flying for long. The kite would turn the wrong way in the wind and immediately dive down. Tried many times and could only fly it for a maximum of two minutes before it would dive to the ground.

A Preliminary Review
I love parrots. I love to fly kites - especially when kids come and watch. I know I'm going to love this - when it's not blistering hot and deadly humid. But, almost as a cosmic joke, the ONLY times we've had any kind of breeze, it was with RAIN, and I'm not Benjamin Franklin. I'm being patient, I have a good bit of experience with these large two-string kites. It takes a bit of skill to get UP and into the sky, not INTO the ground. I'll try to remember to take a photo of it against the blue sky. For now, it's hanging in a macrame plant holder in my office. He looks GOOD.
