Q: I'm confused. My 5lb co2 tank has male threads and my regulator has female threads. How does it go onto my equipment? Photo will help.

This fits into the cylinder male fitting. It will not be tight nor a snug fit. Once the regulator (female fitting) is attached it acts as an amazingly good o-ring. I have one on both my tanks (1 kegerator 5lb and 1 aquarium 10lb cylinder).

Q: To install this do i need to remove the default brass valve on the top of the co2 tank? i have a smaller co2 paint ball tank

These are made for large CGA320 Industrial Co2 valves. They screw into the outlet with an allen wrench ILO of the plastic washer.

Q: What size replacement O-rings are required for this, and what material?

I don't know the size because we purchase these in bulk from the manufacturer. But you can come up with the size by disassembling one and comparing the O-Ring dimensions to a standard size chart. I believe the O-Ring material is Neoprene.

Q: brand new 20lb tank and taprite american reg. niether will let "co2 leak stopper" from "homebrewing" thread in. will this one work?

Just FYI, it screws into the the tank outlet, not the regulator.
