Superbly sharp, little bit heavier than I was expecting, which is nice. Flawless piece of manufacturing. I have a shun birds-beak paring knife also, which is also razor sharp.

The quality of the knife is absolutely superb. Wish we had discovered/bought it earlier! The delivery times were very reasonable as well. Thank you so much!

最近フランスパン作りに凝っているのですが、出来上がったパンを上手くスライス出来なくて困っていました。お値段は高めですが、このパン切りナイフを購入して正解でした。すばらしい切れ味です。

買い替えでどれにしようかと悩みましたが、とにかく切れ味最高です。 ゴシゴシしなくても、ス〜っとキレます。

木屋のパンスライサーの切れ味が落ちたので、見栄えの良い旬のブレッドナイフを購入。しかし妻は「切れなくなった木屋の方がずっと切れる。」と評価。 仕方がないので、藤次郎のパンスライサーを購入してみました。藤次郎のは焼き立てパンもよく切れる。 何故だろうかと波刃を見たら一目瞭然。旬のブレッドナイフはデザイン段階から波刃の歯数が少なすぎます。これでは切れないのも理解できます。 写真上から、旬のブレッドナイフ、木屋のパンスライサー、藤次郎のパンスライサーです。

This is a beautifully crafted bread knife. Sure it cuts as well as any other if not better but it’s just part of my kitchen equipment and other Shun knives and it looks great and is a delight to use. It’s extravagant but it’s also super long lasting and functional. I hate to say it but YES I’d buy it again.

I would never have imagined that a bread knife (it is amazing with tomatoes as well) could cut like this; the proverbial knife through melted butter. I'm staggered.

Shun makes an excellent product and the bread knife is the perfect example. It is extremely sharp and consistently cuts the perfect slice from sourdough to delicate fruit bread as long as the operator is up to the challenge. It would be helpful if they included a protective sleeve, but that is not their promise; superior performance is and that it fulfills with perfection.
