Lovely clothes, nice hair and BIG!
I found these dolls recently but haven't seen any proper reviews, so I'm adding one here! The fabrics on the two I have are lovely, they feel like actual 70s fabric and seem like a cotton blend? The details are lovely, and the hair is well rooted nylon! For the original $25 I think they're worth it, so $7 - $18 is fantastic. The dolls are 15'' tall and are lovely to hug.I only have a few cons; any faux leather elements seem to have already corroded and will flake unless you seal them with a varnish (note her red purse). The other issue is with their arms. The body is a nice and very smooth nylon(?) fabric but the arms are a bit overstuffed, so the doll can't suck her thumb without her arm flying back to her side after a few moments. I fixed this issue by using my finger to maneuver some stuffing from her arm back into her torso, making the arm floppy and now able to hold the pose! You don't have to pop any seams, just squish the stuffing around. These are lovely dolls and I really wish there was more information about them online, they seem oddly elusive. This is the same company that produced those cute Japanese monkey-bear dolls. I def recommend these toys! While I am glad to get them for such a good price, it is sad they didn't sell well.

my 2yo and I adore this doll!! easy on off shoes, little change purse, soft and cuddly, soft hair and lots of it honestly couldn’t ask for anything better in a doll especially a soft doll I went with this one because the blonde looked like the hair was uncontrollable and not much of it from other reviews I want to get the other brunette next I do wish they all came w a change purse

Beautiful doll...
I obtained this doll originally for my 5 year old niece, but made the "mistake" of showing it to my mom first, who quickly fell in love with it! I think she kind of wants to secretly kidnap it for herself instead... ;-)Here's what is great about this doll:- It's a beautifully styled and well-made.- Light weight (about 2 lbs.) and and its body is made out of soft plastic, which should help it to last for quite some time!- The clothing is well made and it kind of looks like the Japanese anime style.- The hair is quite soft (feels a bit like human hair). Some of the hair is grouped together by small bands. What you might want to know:- The doll is tightly held in place in the box. There are several holding bands that need to be cut before it can be removed from its packaging.- The hair gets messed up / a bit tangled in the shipping process. It combs out nicely with a small brush with no noticeable hair loss.- Some of the hair looks a bit irregularly chopped. There were a few strands that were about an inch longer than the rest of the hairdo. It's nothing that a pair of scissors can't easily fix, but still ... it should be done right from the manufacturer.Overall, if you're looking for a beautiful, stylish doll that's well-made, you've found it!

Not Your Typical Baby Doll
This Gege Akiba : Style C Japanese Doll has a nice presentation. The presentation is in its own sturdy box. She is wiry inside. She has a soft belly that our Granddaughter loves and a good personality for a doll (inasmuch as dolls can have a good personality). She has a little purse with a Velcro clasp that holds it shut. Her little lips are puffy to suck her thumb. She has cute little cat. The quality is good. The stitching has nice seams and her clothes fit her. The description of the doll is written in Japanese (or is it Chinese? I wouldn't know one way or the other). She seems to be of the style that collectors seek for display. This could result in a showdown between us and our Granddaughter, but I suspect she will win. She is just so cute walking around with this Gege Akiba doll.

So Cute!
This adorable, Japanese-anime styled doll is perfect. It will be cherished by doll collectors as well as children. It is really well made, with a great attention to detail. The clothing is adorable, the hair is soft and shiny, and the painted-on face is really cute. Except for some of the accessories (shoes, purse, etc.), this doll does not really have a lot of small, removable parts that would present a choking hazard to very young children. If parents do a bit of editing to the doll's wardrobe, it probably can be given even to younger toddlers to play with. Of course, that is assuming the doll collector/lover in your family will actually allow this adorable doll to be played with! It's really sweet, and would make a wonderful gift, too.

Highly quality doll with beautiful details
Well if the doll brings up memories from your childhood it is because Mademoiselle Gege (Japanese not French) made the little monochichi monkey dolls. Though I must admit I prefer this little beauty to the monkeys (tho they were very cute.)This is a lovely little girl doll and beautifully made, the body her clothes, tights, hat are top notch and you will not believe the details in her shoes and purse. I believe this is the company’s attempt at a Madam Alexander’s dolls while adding their signature huge brown eyes and the thumb sucking which in my opinion make her more endearing than Madam Alexander dolls.
