This stuff really works. I have a decent number of tattoos. Almost all of them were done with no numbing cream or anything. That being said, I can remember how painful the inside of my right arm was when I got it done about 15 years ago. It felt like someone was drilling into my armpit (it wasn’t my armpit being tattooed but close to it). When I decided to finish my left sleeve, I started looking into these numbing creams. This stuff really works. I put it on extremely thick, and then wrapped the area in plastic wrap about 1.5 hours before my appointment. When I got to the shop, we cut the plastic off and washed the area. For about 2.5 - 3 hours I couldn’t feel much of anything other than the pressure in that area. Made a 6 or so hour session much easier and enjoyable. While I don’t plan on getting more tattoos, if I did, I would use this for certain areas that cause more discomfort. I also used the remaining cream to dab onto mosquito bites in the summer. This stuff is worth it just for that. For the bug bites it lasted even longer.

It works great, I feel pricing could be a little better but I know this is a medical item. I've seen a lot of people use it and I have used it as well. The longevity depends fully on the person, many it works for long periods of time, for me it starts to become more noticeable when it is no longer working as well in shorter times. The product works great if you move fast though, be sure to clean the area well, exfoliate well before application, make the area as dry as possible before application, then apply a thick layer to desired area, leave on for 1 to 2 hours. It starts to lose effect upon removal so be sure to not wait a while after the removal has occured. It feels cool at first but no issues with the texture. For some people it has been noticed their skin can turn red so mild irritation on some people, I did not have this issue when I applied it to my skin.

I ordered Dr Numb for a chest piece I had done. In preparation for the first session, I applied Dr Numb an hour and a half before my scheduled appointment. I layered the product on heavily (using the entire contents of the jar) and wrapped myself in plastic wrap. 2 hours into the tattoo session the cream had worn off. However while it was numb, my experience was wonderful and pain free. I tapped out after 7 total hours. I reordered the product with hopes of better results the next time around. For my second session I applied a thinner but wider layer of Dr Numb two full hours before my appointment, also wrapped in plastic wrap. The numb lasted just over an hour into that session. Since I hadn't used the entire contents of the jar this time around I had my tattoo artist apply a second coat of cream after three hours of tattooing. We waited 30 minutes after application to continue our session. I was comfortable for the next 30-45 minutes. The remainder of the tattoo was spent holding my breath and closing my eyes waiting for it to be over. My ending comments, while the skin was numb it was completely painless. There was some redness to the skin but nothing concerning. I do feel the claims of hours upon hours of numbing is a gross exaggeration. I do feel like if you're getting a small piece of work done this would be great. Larger pieces will require multiple jars and multiple applications throughout for that comfortable experience. There were brief moments where there were zaps of pain but it wasn't unbearable. I do wish it was a large quantity.

I use this when I get tattoos works phenomenal. Easy to apply. I put it on 45 minutes before my appointment and my tattoo artist will wipe it off and start, definitely last 3 1/2 four hours without needing to reapply. also, when it gradually wears off so you don’t feel like you’re hitting a wall where you’re not feeling anything and then boom you’re feeling all of it like most creams.
