Music that goes down in TV history!
First off I would like to point out that Pokemon is one of the last surviving (if not "the" last) kids shows in America that incorporates the good old wholesome orchestral background score. Not to mention good quality programming all around, which is very hard to find these days among the garbage on TV today. This helps to give kids & family programming real meaning and well worth watching. I highly recommend this CD set for anyone who loves a good children's TV orchestral score, just like they had in plentiful supply with shows like DuckTales, Gummi Bears, and TaleSpin. The music combines computer/synthesized music with the orchestral score, which is understandable because the show was based on a Game Boy game. This isn't just music for the die hard Pokemon fan. This is a special time capsle piece representing an incredible story telling style for kids, which is a dieing art on TV today. This set, along with pocket monster ost best vol.2, has a lot of beautiful musical pieces from the Kanto shows all the way to Sinnoh. They are the best releases of music straight from the Pokemon TV show so far. In this set you will get some rare gems like the spooky sounding music from the episode where Ash arrives in Saffron City to challenge gym leader Sabrina. You will also get the "Jigglypuff Song" (no Jigglypuff vocal but still perfect), and the Pokeflute song from the "Wake up, Snorelax" episode. The music from the Hoenn and Sinnoh journeys are also very beautiful and worth your time. Especially considering that each tack is around two minutes or less. Take my word for it as a follower of classic children's shows from the 80's and 90's. This music was made to be remembered and cherished for a long, long time!

Music that's Blasting off at the Speed of Light!
For the last ten years, I have been humming the themes from the Pokémon TV show. These songs are undeniably catchy and very well written. Recently, I researched where I could purchase the music; however, most available CD's contain the rather poor pop/rap songs made for the US consumers. Upon finding this CD I was skeptical as to its quality; however, I took the plunge and relied on the other reviewers for guidance. Several days after placing the order I received a nice e-mail from the ILC Corporation stating that my order was placed. My order arrived ten days before its earliest arrival date and upon opening the package I found a note thanking me for my purchase and wishing me "Happiness and relaxation". Concerning the product, the condition of the CD was excellent. I immediately tested it and have, so far, found no issues with it. The packaging itself was beautiful and although 90% is unreadable it's still very nice to look at. Listening to the music was really a breathe of fresh air for me. After they destroyed the show and booted the original voice actors I quit watching. However, listening to this music brought me back to the golden days of Pokémon. Shinji Miyazaki, the composer of the show's music, is undoubtedly a musical genius. He did an outstanding job composing these songs and making them immortal. I find it a shame that more people don't know about the actual orchestrated work done on the show. Nevertheless, I will recommend and advise people who still enjoy "good" music to purchase this CD.

A Must-Have for Pokémon Fans!
This CD is filled with music from the Kanto and Johto parts of the anime, and is amazingly nostalgic! The first CD is music which was made based on that of the first and second generation games (Route 1 Theme, the Pokémon Center theme, Elite Four, etc.), while the second CD has music based on the third and fourth generations. Those who have played the games will find many familiar songs, or fans of the anime will recognize some of the classics! The music is also separated, making it easy to skip through (most of the music is only one to two minutes long, some less). I highly recommend this for avid fans of the early years of the show who love the music!

Great Music!
If you're a fan of the show, especially the original series, then you'll love this 2-disc CD set of source music. This first compilation contains music from a lot of seasons. Although, I fell away from series by 2006, the music from later seasons is still nice to listen to, although slightly more electronic rather than orchestrated. Selections from the original CD reappear here but brand new pieces (and variations) appear as well! I recommend buying volume 2 too. Packaging is very nice with a booklet.
