KAKURI Mini Kanna Wood Block Plane 42mm from Japan

安価にてあまり期待していなかったのですが、よく切れることに驚きました。 DIYで使う分には十分な商品です。

I’m scoring this on the quality you get for the price and that it was good for someone to learn to use without spending 3-5万円 in a quality Kanna plane This is a great little Kanna plane, it comes in its default position, which is recessed below the plane surface, the one I got was also on an angle, but that is normal, it is very different in quality from the handmade planes from the local craftsman’s in Ryogoku but the price is okay. I think price and quality is okay for beginners whom wish to learn about Kanna pull planes. You pull the plane towards you, unlike western planes that are pushed away from you. Important - Before using you need to set the blade. Tap the large metal part at the top with a small metal hammer until the blade comes slightly above the plane bottom surface. Try it out on the wood, this one is for very small adjustments. It is not suited for big adjustments. Tap the back of the Kanna plane to recess (bring back) the blade if needed. Once it is set how you like it, tap the metal lock (the metal at the front of the blade) to set it in place. This is important or it will move. . I find it easier to tap the top front of the blade area to remove the metal lock with a small wooden mallet then reset it from scratch Thank you. Enjoy

小さくてかわいい。 普通に使える。 ただ、刃のバランス調整が難しい。 練習にはいいと思います。

DIYで作る時の面取りに使うため購入です。ど素人と私には十分すぎる代物で、削った感じもなかなかな切れ味で使い易くとても気に入りました。

サイズは小さい。部材の面取り用と割り切って使うのにとても適している。

障子の滑りが悪くなったので上面をカンナがけ。刃の調整もさほど難しくなく初めてでも問題なくつかえました。

硬かった

面取り用として購入しましたが、カンナ掛け楽しいです。面取り用としては十分だと思います。

Used it on different projects and it cuts very well. The tapping to position the blade needs some getting used to. But it’s a fun and great tool to have in your toolbox. The woods surface of the plane is also great, as it is less likely to scratch the woods you’re working on when you slip.
