What did you use to cut the hole if you needed to, and does it give instructions for doing that?

It’s very easy. With water just below the desired level install the skimmer by using a sharp object to punch out the screw holes. Once it is installed and right THEN take a razor blade and cut out the square opening.

Will the hose connections fit the intex hoses with the threaded nut? Like with the Intex 56671EG 2,650-Gallon Sand Filter Pump.

David, they do not fit. Intex uses odd sizing so you have to be creative. I hard plumbed my skimmer to my sand filter. On the filter side I reused the nut from the Intex hose but on the skimmer side I glued PVC to the skimmer. I know it is hard to visualize. Check out this website there is a ton of info on there. Does the used Hayward SP1091LX Dyna-Skim Above-Ground Pool Skimmer come w/gaskets for both sides of the skimmer? 1for the inside & 1 for the outside?

The skimmer comes with a butterfly gasket. It provides the gasket for both inside and outside of the pool and also helps keep chlorinated water from contacting (and rusting) the pool wall. Butterfly = think of two gaskets which are joined at the outer edge and therefore capable of being slipped over the square pool opening; kind-of-like your index and middle fingers which meet at the bottom. It works well.

The opening is about 5in by 5 1/2 in.
