Q: do these simulate actual weight?

No they dont and they are shorter than normal shells. More like 2.5". I filled them full of bb's and sealed the to with hot glue to help with weight. After a hundred or so load and ejects the brass warps and will jam. They are also not like a normal shell and they get caught easily when trying to do dual loads. better than nothing i suppose when practicing but, it didnt improve my reloads at all sadly. I wouldnt buy them again

Yes, I have dry fire with them. I haven’t had any problems so for; but they are not the best brand.
