why does the product say the "brace/elbow pad" should be removed from the dog during the night?

How thick is the padding on the elbow ?

Hello, the breathable brace is thick enought to protect the dog's elbows as they constantly throw themselves on ground. It holds in place well even when they try to remove it. I liked it so much that i bought two just in case they were no longer available. I hope my answer helps you decide.
