HonLena KD Frames Twin Trundle, Natural Wood

This is such a great trundle! I love that it is made here in the States, and that it is made of wood. It came and was very heavy to lift, but my son (7), daughter (9), and I managed to get it inside the doorframe and unpack it there. It took maybe 15 minutes to put together. The pieces fit in really well and it is very solid! I was afraid that it might not roll on our carpet (we have thicker carpet), but it rolls really well, even after putting the mattress on it. Overall, a great product! Very smooth wood (not uneven for splinters or anything like that). It's super simple to put together, sturdy, beautiful, and just overall really good quality!

I tend to be a picky customer that does a lot of research, does not like dangerous chemicals in products due to safety of kids, looks for quality, and typically has high standards for products. I am excited to say that I am over the moon happy about this product! I will even be looking to buy more. I bought both the twin platform bed and the trundle to go underneath. I bought them as guest beds in our office/den. During the day it acts as a daybed/seating, and when guests are over, they become two VERY comfortable guest beds. I purchased a 10 in mattress for the top, and an 8 in mattress for the trundle (both from Costco). The 8 in mattress on the trundle is a tough fit when sliding under so you may want to get a mattress slightly less than 8 in. Or you can do as I did, I used a few thick stickers that my kids had under the legs of the top platform to give it a 1/4 in more height so the trundle can slide in easier. The natural wood is absolutely beautiful and enhances the decor, both the platform bed and trundle are incredibly sturdy and can hold the weight of grown men (which I wanted for our guests), no hazardous chemicals used (refer to CA Prop 65 for list) so its safe for my kiddos, niece, and nephew (who love the beds). It was easy to put together and the whole family got involved. Watching my 6 year old son and his dad, work together to hold the wood and tighten the screws was priceless (Dad/son bonding.) I will definitely look to buy more of these. Thank you for this product!!!

I purchased this trundle to create easy access, under bed storage, in an RV I've been renovating and am moving into. I was going to build my own, but given the rising cost of lumber, decided just to order this kit, and am SO GLAD I did!!! I can't say enough good things: wood is Georgia grown, U.S. packaged; instructions are clearly labeled with perfect step-by-step, and written in clear plain English....every single hole was pre-drilled, and wheel placement was already notched. Assembly took 15 minutes, with no specialty tools required. Frame is super sturdy, and wheels are very low profile so you don't lose any storage space, and fits perfectly under a twin frame. Seriously, if you have any doubts, JUST BUY IT!!!

I bought this trundle bed to go with the nomad platform bed. It is perfect for my needs. I could have just kept pushing my sons small mattress under the bed but it is nice to have it off the ground. My sons mattress fits perfectly on it. His mattress is 72 inches long, 36 inches wide and 8 inches tall. It’s a small Serta mattress from Costco. I decided not to put the wheels on the bed frame. The floor in our bedroom is vinyl wood flooring and things slide easily on it. So instead of wheels I used the stick on felt padding you can buy in hardware stores to keep furniture from scratching the floors. It pulls out nicely with a small tug and won’t roll around on him at night. I think we would have still been able to fit the frame under the bed with the wheels. They only would have added about half an inch. However it fits pretty perfect as is with no wheels, and he won’t be sliding around at night. I can see the wheels being useful if you have a carpet floor but there is no lock on them. It is best to put this together in the room you intend to use it in because only 2 slats secure down. The wood is nice and frame solid . Very easy to put together.

I echo what other reviewers have written. Feels solid, good quality, easy to assemble. Simple piece. Now, the casters are tricky. They only move two directions, which is actually fine for me, but they are SO slick, my kids have been slipping and sliding all over just leaning on the thing. We will definitely need to change out at least 2 of the 4 for locking casters.
