I am a bit of a Spirit Island fanatic which means that I have all of the existing expansions and add-on packs. This board makes using all of the extras much easier and more entertaining, bringing them more solidly into the core game play by making them much more visible and accessible. The board colors are vibrant, the construction is terrific, and the size of the folded board is perfect for laying into either your Spirit Island or Jagged Earth box (assuming you remove the inserts as I have done) so that it's ready to go for any game of SI. The only tiny tiny downside is that the "fear" spot on the board does not have the explicit artwork or notification letting you know that you win the game if you play all available fear cards that exists on the smaller board included in base Spirit Island. It's a small oversight and is not going to impact very many games of SI, though, so it's forgivable.

This board seemed like a must-have (on sale for 10 bucks, too) and is in fact really well laid out and helps make sure all stages of a round are completed. The problem is that it's massive, much bigger than it needs to be. Even with six players (and the requisite fear tokens) there's more room than necessary-- it takes more room than six island boards in a star do. We use it, but it's a table hog, and we wish there were something smaller out there that did the same thing. If that doesn't bother you, then this is a well made, quality board that does have its benefits for sure.

Got this as a gift, my bf is obsessed with spirit island and he loved this. Made organization while playing so much better. Plus it looks sick.

Good addition to a great game. And at a decent price!

This board is big and the art in the fear pool space is impressive and thematic. But the design of the board uses its size very inefficiently. The impressively artistic fear pool takes up more than half of the board--an area much too big for any but the largest player groups. On the other hand, there are no spaces for scenario or adversary cards, or any of the map tokens. But there IS a space for the event deck, which was released in the same expansion as the map tokens; there is no reason they shouldn't have been included. Instead of using this space waster, use the invader board from the core game and the adversary board from the Jagged Earth expansion. Those two together take up less area, and they have a spot for everything.
