If you like playing Ticket to Ride, and want to stack blocks to make buildings then Tower Up is for you. Your turn is either taking building materials, or placing them on the board. Placing the materials on a Tower requires you to contribute to each building around it as well. This means that decisions are easy at the beginning, but get more constrained as you go along. Pros: * I've played three times and can teach others how to play in 5 - 10 minutes * Playtime with 3 - 4 new players is less than an hour * Strategy is required, but experienced players don't run away with the win * Getting bonus turns allows for unexpected shifts Cons: * The city map is rather generic. If you need a "role" to play, you'll find the game a little flat at the start. I've seen players not know where to start, because the map is too abstract. A few adjustments such as naming the city districts or basing the board on a real city would help folks engage from the start. * I wish the building materials were named wood, concrete, or something.
