I’ve been using this stuff for months for both of my dogs. My standard poodle just turned eleven in May of 2023 and my little mini poodle/shih tzu mix just turned thirteen this month (October, 2024). They are never not playing and going crazy. Previous to starting this supplement, I was starting to worry about my standard poodle slowing down. I tried a different supplement that touted longevity and, not only did it do nothing for activity/aging, it actually really upset my mini poodle mix’s stomach (he has IBD). Neither of them have had any side effects from Healthy Aging. Both of my dogs see many different vets and specialists and all of their vets are on board with this supplement. If you have an older dog, I’d definitely say it’s worth a try!

This is for my 14 yrs young Rhodesian and I have been a repeat purchaser for consecutively 3 months now. While it’s not a fountain of youth miracle I do notice a modest level of energy pick up when she’s on it vs not (ie when I didn’t time my subs correctly and we ran out). She’s arthritic and have some moderate myelopathy in her hind legs so anything that can keep her mobile and comfortable as she ages into her platinum years I’m all about it. I do provide her with very regimented routines of exercise and other supplementation but I think this has made a difference and I will continue to use it.

We've been using Zesty Paws supplements since they first came on the market many years ago, and are always happy to give their new products a go. Our dogs thrive on Zesty Paws, especially their allergy supplements. The one big difference with this new anti-aging supplement is how it's presented. It's in two parts - a capsule form and then the 'pill pocket' portion. Usually their supplements are a heart-shaped chewies, so the capsule and pill pocket smoosh is a change. Our dogs don't have any issues eating the Zesty Paws chewies, but they don't really like taking anything in pill form even when it's wrapped in tastiness. Pre-formed pill pockets have never been a success as our dogs roll the pill pockets around in their mouths until they fall off the tablet or capsule inside, and then spit out the tablet/capsule. The same thing happened here with these two supplements. They ate the Pill Wrap Probiotic Paste, but spit out the NAD+Precursor capsule. That we ended up having to hide in a scoop of wet food or vanilla Greek yogurt. The idea behind this dual supplement is a good one, especially if you normally buy some kind of pill pocket to get your pup to take a medication or supplement in pill form. I mean, why not make the pill pocket a good-for-your-dog supplement too? The whole two birds thing. I know our dogs aren't the only ones who find a way to only eat the tasty pill pocket but not the yucky tablet/capsule in the center, or will start to chew the whole pill pocket/pill combo and spit everything out after it becomes a slobbery, gooey mess. For dogs like mine, it's just easier to hide each pill in wet food or yogurt and then give the pill pocket paste as its own little treat. A mix-in/sprinkle on powder form is also available, but if your dog is a picky eater, this might not be a better option than the pill form. Cost-wise, if given based on weight this is one of the pricier Zesty Paws supplements even though you are getting two in the same package. Our dog is over 75 pounds and so should be given three capsules per day. That means we're paying about $90/mth (based on buying three boxes for 60 days, 3x$60=$180 or average of $90/30 days). Yeah...not the best deal even though we really do want to the the best we can for our dogs. Instead of giving him three capsule a day plus a ball of the probiotic paste, we give him one capsule along with the equivalent size of the paste to cover said capsule. It's less than the recommended amount, but it also allows us to ease our dog into his system getting used to something new. Our largest dog has some wicked allergies, so we've found it best to take things slow with him. Even with other Zesty Paws supplements, he doesn't get the full dosage recommend for his size. He does better with the minimum or at most half doses. As long as he keeps getting glowing checkups from his vet, we'll keep up with this approach. It's too early to tell how much this new supplement will affect him, especially considering it's meant to help with healthy aging. But based on prior Zesty Paws supplements and how well they've worked, it seems safe to say we expect good things from this one as well.
