It came in perfect conditions. I loved how it looked and how well packed it was.

Great quality. The book is made out of hard cardboard-like texture. The letters in the cover page are gold. The color is like a violet/red/purple color instead of red. I compared the book with another “red” book and you can clearly see that it is not red but more a burgundy/purple color, which is still nice. It has an orange ribbon to mark the pages and the book pages are stained orange. Great conditions, I recommend.

This Gothic Chronicles Collection looks wonderful on display. The gilded covers and colored page edges are stunning. The fire red page edges are the perfect choice for Dante's Inferno. I've read Longfellow's translation before, and I'd probably look for a more modern translation if I were to read it again. The medieval references are difficult enough to understand without having to decipher the poetic language. My first time reading I didn't have an edition with a lot of footnotes and a lot of the references went over my head. This edition is beautiful, but if you're serious about reading it I'd look for another translation geared towards understanding the references.
