I bought this product to use to install a new shade sail (that I also bought on Amazon). I attached two corners to one side of my house and the other two corners to small trees in my yard. It was super easy to install these parts, and they are holding up very well, even in the extreme climate that we have here in Hawaii - big wind, strong sun, torrential rains. I bought these items instead of an ugly tan tent that all my neighbors have, to protect my car from bird droppings, and I'm very glad that I did, it works well and looks elegant, not ugly like the tents!

Great product to help put tension on the sun sail

Trying to tighten 3/32 thick cables on 26X26X26 feet sun shade sails was a major challenge. When I found this kit on Amazon, I knew this was the way to go. Of the 7 items in the package I used 4 of them. The pre-fabricated cables were either too long or too short for my purposes. The provided tool that is use on the winches was too short to properly roll in and tighten the sails cables. I could not get enough leverage with the provided tool and had to use a ratchet to get the leverage and finally get the winch to tighten the cables. Since I was mounting the sails on 10 foot 3 inch diameter poles, the mounting brackets for the winches were useless (great if mounting it to a flat surface). I was happy the winch hooks did the job. Other than the few items I listed as not being used, This kit made the job easy to complete and looks great. Best of all, since I live in Florida and have to deal with hurricanes, these winches makes taking down my sails a breeze. All I have to do is release the anchoring lever and it will unwind quickly ( Just need to be careful with your fingers) and allow me to unhook my sails for storage.

These are fine...small and sturdy. As the headline suggests, a loop that was a little larger would be nice, but I made it work.

I used these to put up my shade sail on the same day I received them. So I can’t speak to longevity. But, I’ll say that this kit made it pretty easy to put up my shade sail. The kit makes you have more options to easily attach the sails to various (existing) areas of my hard.The only negative is that the screws seem to be cheap and are easy to strip, even when unscrewing them. I’m not an expert handy person, so I had to experiment with a few different placements for the anchors.I’d suggest using your own wood screws rather than using the ones that came with the kit.The winch and all the pieces seem very strong -.all except the screws. It could be user error, though, since, like I said, I’m no expert.This kit was easy to use and made putting up my shade sails relatively easy.I attached my sail to my roof underhang and to some fence posts.

I used this kit to install Colourtree’s Super Ring shade sail, which is the most heavy duty version of their sails. First off, the metal of the provided screws is too soft even for a hand tighten installation. I ended up stripping 3 out of 4 screws, while installing my first winch. Even if you pre-drill holes and manage to install your winch without stripping any screws, you may face the issue if you ever decide to relocate the winch, especially a few months down the road. For the 2nd winch, I got my screws upgraded to impact grade hex screws, which I installed and reinstalled multiple times with an impact gun. My second major issue with this kit is the provided vinyl coated steel wire rope. It broke on me every single time I tried giving my sail any decent tension. I don’t think it’s any good even for lighter duty applications. It’s simply garbage. I got it also upgraded to HD’s 1/8 in. vinyl coated wire rope. Which was more than adequate to give my sail some good tension. All in all, I would only recommend this kit for its winches, which worked great for me. If you are hoping to use all of this kit’s content, you’ll most likely be disappointed.

This set really helped when putting up the sun sail, especially since we needed it really tight. The winches were probably the best part.

I left a positive review after the first purchase.Then, due to additional need, I purchased again within a week.Surprisingly, with the trial Prime membership, I received an used product yet with the same priced paid!!!!So, does it mean the trial prime membership come with a reduced quality product?------------The wires are as sturdy as described and easy to use along with either a turnbuckle or a snap hook.
