Disgaea 4 A Promise Unforgotten (Import)

Perfect game

Level nine-thousand, nine-hundred and ninety nine? Monster weapons? Addicting gameplay that you wouldn't mind grinding with? All there, in this game! It's a really fun strategy game, with endless things to do! And the gameplay is almost like Final Fantasy Tactics...and for those who have played that game, you'll REALLY love this one! The characters are lovable and the story is very deep, and I don't think I can see anything wrong with this game. Insane numbers that only NIS could ever make, and-oh, it's just too addicting. I end up playing for hours! I'm just gushing all over this review. It's just a really addicting game!

Are you kidding me...First Disgea game I have ever played and you get thrown into some crazy combos, tower attacks. Counter-Counter-Counter-Counter-Counter attacks, Fusions, making your allies turn into weapons and then attacking like a madman...Reaching Lvl 9999 doing millions in damage. This game is absurd. If you like Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, Anime, Sardines or just a calm relaxed paced rpg then this is an absolute no brainier, got it dood i'm telling you to buy it.

Let me preface this review by saying that I still consider Disgaea 4 to be an AMAZING game compared to other sRPGs outside of the series. The Disgaea franchise is known for its quirky sense of humor and amazingly deep combat system. Disgaea 4 does an excellent job of keeping up with that. Pros: +Keeps the core battle system of the Disgaea series but adds some much needed improvements. (Magichange is improved from D3 for example) +Wide array of classes (although not as many as you would hope- more on that later) +Charming characters +Cute storyline (but lacking slightly in depth) Cons: -Many classes from previous games are entirely missing, and they don't really have a good equivalent introduced. There are new classes, but many of them are just okay and I rarely found myself using them. (On a side note, you can get some of the classes from previous games but it requires the purchase of DLC) -The characters are cute and charming, but not as memorable as those from previous games. In fact, the game actually relies on bringing some characters back from previous titles as part of the main storyline. I don't mind that, but it definitely overshadows the original D4 characters and makes one realize that they aren't really comparable. -The storyline is probably the least compelling/cohesive of any Disgaea game (with the possible exception of Disgaea 3). It was cute and it did the job, but it just lacked some of the nuance that made earlier titles so memorable. Overall, great game in the series and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys sRPGs. There are some minor complaints, but they definitely aren't enough to detract from the fun! Overall, GREAT game and I highly recommend it.
