I keep both the blue food, marked with a label “October to February” and affix a label to the pink food marked “Feb. To Oct.” so that I know when to start using each one. Most of the year I feed my orchids weekly with one half full measuring spoon of food that comes with the container, mixed thoroughly with a gallon of room temperature water. Drain orchids well as orchids hate sitting in water. Spray them with a mist of water which resembles their tropical habitat and they do very well. It’s October and my cymbidiums in outdoor pots on my protected deck are full of new stocks with buds that will become flowers just in time for the holidays! Average outdoor temp. Is 40’s at night and 60’s during the day this time of year. As soon as they begin to bud iinsert a stake to support each shoot as they become heavy with blossoms. This is the only food I use and it works great!

I am unsure if it worked because my orchid didn't live long

First three weeks I was very skeptical this will work since I didn't see any results and my orchid's roots started to turn brown and i was afraid it will die. However, after another two weeks the orchid started growing 2 new leaves and new roots, which i presumed are the result of this product. However, I suggest tha Amazon puts ALL product warning on the website. It says on the label that this product caused cancer in the state of California (what about the rest of the state, you might wonder?). Well, I was shocked to see that on the label and nothing on the product description on the web. But everytime I water my orchid using this product I always thoroughly wash my hands afterwards. I suggest while making the solution to use disposable gloves and do it over an empty sink, not near your dishes or any other items that could catch this product.

The fertilizer showed up in granules like in the pictures. There is a seal below the lid that keeps moisture out in transit. Also, the included scoop is great, it has both tbs and tsp markings.

I just got this stuff in the mail, but I'm giving it 4 demerits not having even opened the bottle. Why? There is a warning on the bottle which indicates that product has cancer causing ingredients? But that's not the reason for the one star. Someone actually had the temerity to take a sticky bar-code label and cover up the warning. I peeled the label away by chance, looking for mixing instructions. This is probably the best orchid food that money can buy. Why? Well, for one thing it causes cancer. I like the results of this product. My orchids looks much better since I got it. Just take the usual precautions: use gloves, a sink that is only used for this purpose, mask etc. keep it away from pets and children etc I highly recommend it.

Right now my phal is growing a leaf and I fertilize it every second watering, which is about every week and a half before I water it again. It's funny because every time I fertilize it, it grows like a weed! Seriously! The leaf increases in size in just a few days! Then, usually 3-4 days before its next watering, it slows down and eventually stops until I fertilize it again. I'm almost thinking I should feed it at every watering. All in all, great stuff and orchids (at least phals) seem to like it!
