I love opossums and they often hang out in my backyard. One night a female showed up having obviously just been bitten. She had a patch of hair torn from her side and 2 puncture wounds that were red & bloody but not actively bleeding. Other than that she seemed just hungry and thirsty as usual. She’s a wild animal and I don’t ever touch them unless it’s to help. I didn’t want to frighten her by grabbing her and I know from experience an animal like this will be put down if I called animal control. They’re not even open in the middle of the night where I live anyways and most are taken to a local 24-hr vet during the evening for triage, etc. There’s only a certain amount of $ provided by the county hat can be spend to treat each animal based on their estimated possibility of survival. I quickly grabbed my phone and ordered a bottle of Vetericyn Woundcare. It was one of the only wound sprays that could be delivered the next day but also had good reviews. I hoped the opossum would visit the next night so I could spray her and she did. Since I wasn’t able to touch her, I adjusted the nozzle to fan out (instead of stream) and offered her some food w one hand while I sprayed her side w the bottle w the other. I sprayed 3-4 really direct sprays all over the wound. She’d obviously been bitten by another animal and it had torn off her fur. I didn’t see her for a week after that but when she came, it looked like the puncture wounds were healing just fine. But on her other side, she had another patch of missing fur and more puncture wounds! I again sprayed her and hoped for the best. I didn’t see her for 3-4 weeks but when she came back around, I could see the wounds had closed up w no infection and the fur was growing back. This made me very happy! I’m thrilled w this product. I wasn’t sure how she’d keep those wounds from getting infected but w this woundcare spray, it wasn’t an issue. I would definitely recommend Vetericyn Woundcare. It worked for me and my opossum. And who says only cats have 9 lives?

I bought this for my daughter who has a non funded wildlife rescue facility. The kangaroos, possums, birds etc. often come in with nasty wounds, I believe this will be useful.

Buy this ! I've bought this multiple times and wish I would've take a before and after picture of my pups. My dogs have really bad skin allergies, it's terrible. I've spent so much on allergy medication and allergy shampoos. I did research and bought this spray. My dogs had bumps all over their skin that would get infected. Chunks of hair would come off along with dry flaky skin. This spray has cleared their skin. Onyx's skin is clear of bumps and all of his fur has grown back. Luna is 80 % better. My son after seeing how relieved the dogs felt and how their skin is healing, she also bought it for her dog Rocco. Pitbulls have really bad skin issues but this is something I will always have available at home. This spray has no bad odor works and goes a long way. Please buy it now! You won't regret it :-)

This stuff is great. I have used it to protect my dog from infection after she snapped her nail up pretty high. Just sprayed this on to clean, wrapped, and changed the wrapping every two or so days. I have also used the feline version as part of a system to heal bumblefoot. There’s not a strong smell, it didn’t cause my dog discomfort at all. This works very well in my experience and is a must to have on hand for when you might need it quickly.

I bought the Vetericyn Plus Dog Wound Care Spray for my American Pitbull Terrier after she had some kind of allergic reaction or bite in the yard. Her neck blew up into a big, raw sore that looked a lot worse than a simple scratch. The vet had to cut the hair away around it so we could really see the area. In my review photos, the first picture is from that vet visit, before I started using the spray. You can see the shaved patch and how red and angry the sore looked. The second picture is less than several days later, after spraying Vetericyn Plus on the spot about 3–4 times a day. The difference is honestly huge. The wound is smaller, the color looks so much better, and the skin around it is healing instead of drying out or cracking. My dog does not flinch when I use it, and her skin in that area has never turned red or irritated from the spray. It just stays clean and slowly looks more like normal skin again. I still recommend checking with your vet if something looks serious, but having this at home made it easy to keep the area clean and supported between visits. If I could give Vetericyn Plus Dog Wound Care Spray 6 stars, I would. For us it has been a daily go to and made a very scary looking sore heal up much faster than I expected. Hopefully seeing the before and after in my photos and hearing our experience helps someone else who is dealing with a similar wound on their dog.
