Toshiba 10TB Enterprise Internal Hard Drive – MG Series 3.5" SATA HDD for Server, Storage, 24/7 Operation, Hyperscale, Cloud (MG06ACA10TE)

Bought three of these for a NAS. Very happy. Been working flat out for about six weeks - as they transfer back fromm a number of sources and mirror to another off-site NAS. Used for data, CCTV and media storage. They’ve not got hot - and we’ve caned them over the last few weeks.. Well done Toshiba - great product.

Not first Toshiba hdd and didn't disappointed again. Works quiet, good price, long warranty

These Toshiba 10TB MG Series Enterprise 3.5 Inch SATA Internal Hard Drive were stated as model: MG06ACA10TE and what I got was slightly different, the model: MG06ACA10TA. They work fine and in most cases may be preferable. However, if you are running a RAID and looking to replace drives be careful. The TE model emulates 512 bit sectors (for backwards compatibility) and the TA is native 4k. NMost RAID will not be able to mix drives of different sector sizes in the same RAID volume. So in my case I ordered some more and am replacing ALL the Drives in the RAID. These are enterprise drives and so come in all sorts of variants including SAS as well as SATA. They will be noisier than consumer drives, since they are built more robustly and have some nice enterprise features like non-volatile write cache, in case of power failures.

In use, this HDD was fast, quiet and had great capacity. Unfortunately it didn't last very long, as it failed after being used only a few times. I bought this drive to use as a backup medium, and mounted it in a caddy. I only managed 3 or 4 backups before the drive stopped responding. It was not left on 24/7 or given hard usage, it was just used as a backup/restore medium. Very poor and very disappointing. Having read other reviews where people did not have the (5 year) warranty period honoured, I was fearing the worst. However after finally managing to get to chat with an Amazon representative, I was offered a return label and refund of the purchase price, which I gratefully accepted and duly returned the faulty drive. However it has to be said that the options needed to get to chat to a representative are well hidden. Persevere and hopefully you will be rewarded. However I will not be buying any more Toshiba hard drives.

Previously I've always used Seagate & Western Digital non enterprise type drives (around 30 of them) in my desktop PC's & NAS's. However I thought I'd try two 10TB Toshiba Enterprise drives this time, as they are currently over £70 cheaper than the 10TB Seagate Equivalents. I was a little concerned reading some reviews about the Toshiba's being 'noisy', however I was surprised once they were installed as they were only a bit more audible than my current 8TB WD Red drives. Yes you can hear them spinning, and yes you can hear the clunking from them when their actuators are active, but they're definitely NOT 'noisy' for enterprise drives. Many forget that enterprise drives are built sturdier and heavier than standard drives so they do make a little more noise, they're also built to be used literally 24/7 if necessary. Plus as hard drive capacity is increasing year on year there's more rotating mass inside of them, so masking noise completely is impossible with ANY spinning platter type drive.

I use this product in my Unraid server I have used Toshiba drives for years As well as many others and found Toshiba to be the most reliable.

The drive works, no issue, 5 year warranty, means it going to be reliable.

I used this in my NAS as a standalone drive. It works well. It does run a little warmer than my other drives but I have had no issues.

It’s an enterprise grade drive which is meant for heavy duty read and write cycles. I trust HDDs over SSDs for long term data storage although I use both. This has become my main backup drive and it has tonnes of space for redundancy especially for my older drives and ssds. For longevity HDDs are best, although ssds actually last longer. However, since you need to keep ssds plugged in over time to help them retain data, these issues don’t exist with a sparingly used HDD which only fails when the mechanical parts fail. And I already have an external Toshiba 3 tb that has been running for over 14 years now. Speeds are very good and sound levels are bare minimum . I trust the brand and it’s Japanese so yeah, go for it. Definitely value for money when you consider I paid around 2000/tb for an enterprise grade drive.

同じ東芝製のHDDを使用したことがあり、静かで故障したこともないので今回購入した

Super bien emballé avec un carton, des mousses de 2 cm, une coque plastique, un sachet anti-statique original. Le disque en lui même est une merveille. Certes il fait un peu de bruit mais c'est mon 3ème et il a marqué out-of-the-box à la parfection pas comme les 2 Seagate que j'ai retournés qui étaient arrivés cassés.

設置後、1TB程、継続して書き込んでも安定しています。 ファン環境は整っていますが、本体も４０度程で安心して使用できてます。 バックアップメインの使用用途ですが、普通にメインとしてでも使えそうです。 自分の環境使用大容量は、8TBが今までの主流だったので、10TBは初使用ですが、特に問題なさそうです。 同社のHDDは、5TB、6TBも複数使用してますが、現状良好に稼働しているので、相性は良さそうです。
