best hearing aid
I am wearing this hearing aid now. I am very impressed with it. At first the idea of a stem sticking out of my ear turned me off, but the quality of this product is amazing. I bought this on Amazon for around $50.00 and what a deal. Opening the box you immediately notice the quality of the package. The hearing aids have impressive features. 32 channel processing is fairly high and frequency spread of 200-7000 is equal to the professional aids. There is a recharging case which is small enough for pocket or purse. The advertised battery life is 9 hours which is enough for most days. This is an advanced level hearing aid. 8 channel is Basic. 16 channel is standard. 32 channel is advanced and over 32 channel is premium. The stem sticking out is offset to allow the aid to sit easily in the canal. On the stem is a touch button marked with a swirl. Touch once to change volume and touch twice to change mode. Then hold for 5 seconds to lock the choices. In locked mode you can hit the touch button without changing anything. Unlock with another 5 second hold. Before putting the aid in the ear, the button is locked, so arrange the aid in the ear and then turn on with 5 second hold. There is a minimal amount of feedback noise which is easily reduced by adjusting the volume. It also works well with headphones so that is a perk. There is a high frequency mode which is great for my senior citizen high frequency hearing loss. All in all, this is a steal at $50.00. Get it before the price goes up.

Difficult to Use without Constant Adjustments
They are difficult to use because you constantly have to adjust them if you are moving your head they start squealing so bad that the people around you can hear it.

Fine Device
These have the best quality sound. Very clean, very loud (if you so desire), no significant feedback. Intuitive and easy to use. And in some magical way, they do not fall out of the ear. They barely enter the ear canal, yet they have not fallen out. Apparently the acoustical isolation is excellent, despite what feels like a loose fit. The result is a very comfortable, effective hearing aid with insignificant sonic feedback. Although I find it a bit grotesque to have black rods sprouting from my ears, it is a visual cue for the younger generation that now think I am "kool". ...Little do they know.

Okay for the price, but nowhere near professional hearing aid quality.
Compared to professional hearing aids costing over $1000, these don't come close. But then they are only $50 so this is not a surprise. With that in mind, the sound quality is still only fair. And their design is like a typical earbud and requires it to be fully sealed in the ear canal. I found the touch controls to be, lets say somewhat difficult to use reliably. One plus of these is that they hold a charge a lot longer than professional hearing aids with their tiny batteries. Are these a good value? Ehh....

Decent amplifiers
To start, I have worn hearing aids myself for many years. I thought I would try these as a back up pair, for when I don’t have batteries for my regular ones. Also, as I age, many around me start to wonder if they should get hearing aids, so i wanted to know if these were something I could recommend as a trial pair, to get a feel for it before they invest in the expense of hearing aids. First, these are comfortable enough, do not fit like hearing aids however, more like in ear headphones. This is an entirely different feel. Both are an irritant, as ears don’t really want foreign objects in them. I personally find these and in ear headphones less irritating, as they don’t fit as far into the canal. So that is a plus for these. The minus is that these types of devices rely on a proper seal, which I don’t find comfortable unless exclusively listening to music. They have a small form factor and are very light. People might think you are on the phone. The charging case also has a small form factor and is light weight. Comes with a variety of tips sizes, a charging cord, and a cleaning tool. The box presentation is nice. The batteries are lithium so hold a charge a long while, like in ear buds. Now to the function. It does a decent job of amplifying sound. Be prepared for a lot of squealing happening until you get a good seal. I found it difficult to change the 4 settings. One of the settings made the amplification sound like you were hearing things through a CB radio. I did find one that worked well for TV dialogue. However, when watching, a person talking in the same room was uncomfortably loud. Overall, these are decent for the price, a hundred with the coupon. I would recommend them for someone tech savvy, who can handle the fitting, the adjusting, and the squeals and such. I wouldn’t try them with my elderly relatives, in other words. The best thing by far about them is the affordability, which is much needed in the US wherein insurance rarely covers any hearing aid costs and the market is such that decent aids are thousands of dollars.
