I had a trusty clock radio (Sony) that finally gave up the ghost after 40 years, so I had to find a replacement. After looking at many options, I settled on this Emerson and was pleasantly surpised by the large number of nice "bonus" features that are not standard in all clock radios: 1. There are 4 brightness levels 2. There's a room temperature sensor 3. The clock automatically sets the time/date when you plug it in or after power comes back on after a power outage 4. Both alarms can (separately) be set to go off only M-F or only Sat/Sun, or all 7 days of the week 5. There is a wireless phone charger on the top of the clock radio On top of these added features above, the basic controls are intuitive, which is NOT always the case for these clock radios. If this clock radio lasts half as long as my old Sony lasted, I'll be happy.

At first I was completely pleased with the product. The phone charger worked for my phone. It took me a few tries to figure out how to set the alarm and all that. It was not really user friendly or logical, but using the instructions helped to figure it out. I thought I was all set and was happy with it. Not even 2 weeks later, I set my phone on it to charge it and notice the numbers on it would go to 12:00 then count up rapidly, go completely dark, go back to 12:00 then repeat the process indefinitely. I figured I must’ve hit a button or something, although it didn’t make sense why it would have a setting that did that. I tried pushing all the buttons, holding the buttons, and even unplugging it for a while before plugging it back in. It went back to shorting out. I didn’t see anything in the instructions related to this problem. What a complete disappointment and piece of excrement. It doesn’t even charge my phone now and all functions on it are useless including the radio. This is beyond an epic fail. It is such let down to get something that you are really pleased with become completely useless. I wouldn’t even trust it now, if I got it fixed. I still have my Emerson VCR from the 1990’s. They have gone way downhill, if this what they have to offer these days. I’m thinking it may be a fake brand. Zero stars. What garbage!

Love this item, it sets itself when you plug it in. The sound of the music is great and you can just lay your phone on top to charge it while you are doing something else. It has alarms you can set readily and the price was most reasonable. It is very easy to tell the time as the numbers are easily readable. It's length is about the size of my hand (small woman size) and the width is about 1/2 my hand size, so very compact on my night stand. I also bought one for my office. Love it!

Cell phone charging platform doesn’t stay in charging mode. It takes much longer because it keeps glitching on the steady charging mode that it should be doing when the phone is placed on the platform.

All the "clock" functions are fine. Alarm, radio work. Easy to read, keeps time. SmartSet is great. Charging pad doesn't work.
