As a user of the Insta360x2, then the X3 I was keen to get my hands on the Insta360 x4. I love my 360 cameras which allow me to be highly creative with my videos and sometimes stupid videos. The New X4 did not disappoint, it’s a great camera and although it’s a bit bigger, it’s a little harder to run around with it in your mouth for NoseMode but not enough to stop me from doing so. The new bayonet-style lens protectors that twist and clip into place come with the camera or you can buy better-tempered glass versions to help protect your lenses if you drop the camera, so much better than those horrible sticky lens guards. To be honest, though I don’t like to put anything in front of my lenses as it will lessen the lens quality, risky I know! 8K Video, Wow, this takes up more memory and power so that is one of the reasons for the size increase, it has a bigger battery, so it lasts longer and you will need larger capacity SD cards because of file size. There is also a 5.7K mode which you can use, and it will use less memory. Just as a heads-up I hear about hot cameras and overheating, yes they do get warm, but I have never had an issue and was shooting lots of video in temperatures of 39 degrees without any issues. The bigger size also means that it now sports a bigger 2.5-inch screen which is great for playback. Shooting at 8K resolution also means that I can crop in on the video (Zoom in) and still be at 4K which is a bonus. As a creator, the beauty of the Insta360 X4 is I can not only shoot weird and wonderful things, but I can shoot everything around me and then reframe on my desktop or app to show the view I want, you don’t miss anything! I love the new camera, well worth having one in your camera bag.

An awesome piece of tech! Outstanding gadget with amazing features and can be used for all sorts of things. Used it on holiday walking around, made a time lapse, used it along with the selfie stick to see areas I couldn't see otherwise. Filmed my car while driving and even put it on a tripod and filmed a wedding! Beauty of it is you can watch it back later and see several different movies by rotating and reframing your video. Infinite possibilities.

I like this product,but I need to learn many, how to use correctly and effectively.

I bought this camera on Amazon then added the Flexicare service via Insta360 web site. I was pleased I did because I dropped the camera without the lens guards and damaged one of the lenses. First disappointment was the camera has to be sent to Hong Kong for repair, so forget any fast turnaround. The Flexicare meant I only paid £30 for the repair, but Insta360 do nothing to make the return go easily through customs, and when it was inevitably stopped they were slow and incomplete in sending the info needed, and even then it wasn't enough to avoid a charge of £62 from customs that Insta360 refused to pay. So now the repair cost is £92 and I was without the camera for more than 2 weeks. Compare this to GoPro who do a quick replacement (I've had next day), if you subscribe to their service, plus a lot of other benefits. I would be very wary of buying anything from Insta360 again, certainly something like an action camera that could easily require a repair. UPDATE: The Insta360 Amazon Customer Experience Team got in touch, offered to refund my customs fee (and rounded it to £75!), and sent me a free Insta360 x4 battery worth around £43, so now I am much happier. They have promised to review this returns process because it is still a hassle, so hopefully, it may be better for others, but if not, then I would recommend getting in touch with their Amazon team rather than dealing with the support in Hong Kong who seems to be limited in what they can do.

I got this to record my fishing trips and it has worked great for that so far. The coolest thing I've used it for is capturing the Northern lights on a time lapse. There's a ton of features that this camera can do and the fact that you don't miss anything makes it worth the money.
