Why does this say (light) in the item description?

The cat is a light shade (there also is almost a black cat - 'dark')

can this be painted a different color?

I suppose if you wanted to paint it in a different color, you could. I think the paint would stay on it. Not really sure as I haven't tried to paint mine.

Could this be used outside as a memorial on a headstone, or would it weather away?

It's very tiny ... just so you know, maybe 3inches tall. But I would assume the paint is NOT weather proof. Sun, rain or snow .... I don't think so, unless you have plans to put it under a glass dome of sorts ... I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe their website has an area where you can ask questions. And I'm so very sorry for your loss..

Captures a cat's look

Very small but beautifully made. Bought for my wife to have on the bedside cabinet as we were both grieving over losing our beloved cat. Captures the way cats cock their head to one side when figuring things out and looking at you... If you have cats you'll know what I mean and hats off to the artist for capturing this in a small carving.

Cute Cat Figurine

Really lovely little figurine but please be aware of the size before purchase to avoid disappointment - it's very small! I picked it up on a Black Friday deal and was happy with the price. Not so sure I would have wanted to pay the £21.00 it was advertised for the day before though. Perfect gift for cat-lovers!
