Does exactly as it says on the box
Bought this router as a temp as contract ended with last provider.Registered my new sim, popped it into my phone for a few mins then it went into the router.I had WiFi the minute the sim registration completed.Setting up is so very simple. The sticker on the back was a bit hard to see but that’s down to my sight more than anything else.I was able to change names and password in next to no time and my devices connected seamlessly. The router itself seems quite sturdy and very lightweight but that doesn’t seem to affect the performance. I get full coverage of my flat and the speeds aren’t as great as a hotspot from my phone but using the antenna provided I was still getting over 100Mbps. I’ve only streamed for a few hours but there has been no buffering or any lagging. For the price paid, this has exceeded my expectations and could possibly become a permanent router if my experience so far is anything to go by.

AX5400 BOUGHT TO REPLACE POOR VIRGIN HUB 4
I bought the AX5400 (AX73) because our Virgin hub 4 was terrible for wifi and because this looked a mean piece of kit with all it's antennas! We just switched the Virgin hub into "modem mode" and connected one cat8 network cable from it into the new AX5400. (Any cat5, cat6, etc cable is fine)Turned it on, logged into it, and it basically set itself up! VERY easy to get going.I now have wifi coverage across the entire house, which is a 4bed terrace with an extension. Before, we would lose all wifi in the furthest upstairs rooms and the extension so this is a significant improvement. We have a LOT of devices on our wifi, mamy phones, tablets, games consoles and amazon echo dots and all these are working flawlessly and with minimal effort. The AX5400 is definately the model to go for, don't bother with the lower models on this listing - it's definately worth paying that little extra to get this top model. It's very well ventilated and the lower models people complain get too hot or fail. There's no concerns with this one. I would recommend periodically wiping it for dust though because there are a LOT of tiny vent holes that look like they'd be more than happy to fill up with dust. But i'm quite happy to wipe it over from time to time.My speedtest results were pleasing.I went from 240-500MB/sec to results of upto 740MB/sec checked over a lan cabled computer on our 500MB/sec Virgin Fibre line so this was definately an improvement.Virgin hubs are terrible, they drop wifi connections, have pauses and lag delays when many devices are connected, and the range is terrible. The AX5400 is an easy solution. Definately consider one!

Better reception
Signal has much improved. Using it with Three SIM. Signal on 100% on 4G LTE.Download speed around 20Mbps, and upload around 15Mbps. These are the maximum I got! Maybe it's my location. However, this works well with online TV.Same SIM on a phone will get 10Mbps and 0.2Mbps upload, so clearly this router improves speed.Overall, easy to setup, plug and play. WiFi speed isn't great, I used another WiFi as AP plugged into this router.

So sleek my wife doesn't mind it on display!
Couldn't be happier with this device! As an IT Manager I was really pleased with the functionality of the advanced features as well as the optional extras. For non-IT users please understand that the optional extras are not required! It's a gorgeous unit, a mix of gloss and matt black, 4 aerieals that aren't oversized to look like they do more than they're actually doing. The power is a standard plug, no power brick inbetween the unit and the plug socket. The dept of the router means it fits on a nice slim table leaving room for other bits - picture to follow and will edit this bit out once uploaded.Setup is easy and very well guided, without intimidation, although it will try to get you to start a trial for optional extras you don't need, but they are good.I would recommend setting up the mobile app and adding the device so you can manage, if needed, without a computer. I would say it's almost on par with the Netgear Nighthawk app.Wifi range, strength and device distribution is incredible, down to being WIFI6, and I can't wait to renew my EoP devices to get the best out of the Ethernet ports.
