This depends on where you're at in the hobby and what you're looking for
Soooooo alot of people(purist) like to go after the esc combo but I have not really had an issue other than it is not a programmable with a program card only what is adjustable from the remote but i feel that out of the box in the rtr category this is a great rig. Entry level hmmm maybe if you step the power down to start to 50% or use a 2s battery yes but it does have that arrma ridiculous speed. It can take a whipping ran 5 3s 5200s through it first day and it took it great, outside of an operator failure on a poorly centered jump and blew aprt a support arm. Watch the tires on pavement its very torquey and due to the softness the front wheels grip hard so expect to burn tread on the rear tire opposite of your turning direction. This leads to devouring the tires really quick but those same tires on dirt sand and other terrain have expandability and softness that really help in my opinion. Out performed Traxxas slash vxl 4x4 speedwise and toughness but not as agile on dirt or cornering/turning on harder surfaces.

Just about perfect!
This thing rips as an rtr. Definitely gonna want a few more teeth for the pinion gear to get the speed you’re after. I went to this after running the Fury 223s blx hijklmnop to try 4x4 short course. The Fury is noticeably faster, but the Senton (after some oil and ride height adjustments) is absolutely planted. Cool for controlled driving if you’re into that. May also want to fiddle with the diffs as well to have an easier time jumping if you’re after this for bashing. But yeah…Senton good. Definitely has the more “premium” feel when compared the the Fury. That being said..the fury IS easier to work on. Doing/repairing things on the Senton is definitely an “end of the day” experience. It takes some time as there’s more to do (remove) before you can actually get to doing the thing you’re trying to…do. This is one of those trucks that makes you either appreciate your electric screwdriver..or snag a new one QUICK. As for the chassis/body they’re bothering very decent. Chassis is very nice. Battery strap system is…not my favorite. It can easily be swapped for all those free velcros that come with lipos nowadays. Body is a body. It will start to split at the rear corners like any short course ever forever. Fiber tape/liquid electrical tape/etc will keep the creeping cracks at bay. Fits/locks into place well as long as you keep the clipless system blown out and not too dusty. All in all it’s definitely a 9/10 or better. Highly recommend. Even with the 2-in-1 esc/rx on slt it’s a terrific truck. A quick random tidbit: 12mm HUB ADAPTERS ARE INCLUDED. Truck comes with 14mm installed and 12mm in the box. A welcomed surprise.

Very tough
Awesome truck, had it almost a year and only have had to replace a cooling fan.

Don't do business with Horizon Hobby
I don't write a lot of reviews but this really rubbed me the wrong way. Car had a bad ESC out of the box, on a 2S, would run a battery down to 7.7V (should be around 6.8) and then go into power limit mode. This took about 5 minutes (using only 25% of the battery), I've seen other complaints about low run times, you probably have a bad ESC. I presented the data to Horizon Hobby (HH) and after 4 email back and forths where I sent them pictures of my findings, their solution was to ship it across the country (I was expected to pay the shipping) so they could "assess" and mail it back 7-14 days later. I asked for them to send me a replacement ECS and they wouldn't acknowledge the question. People seem to be very happy with this car and it was fun for the 5 minutes it would run but I got a bad one and the treatment by HH soured me on the entire ecosystem of their brands. Anyone interested in an HH product should know that they often use proprietary battery connectors so you have to get batteries and chargers from them at highly inflated rates. The Spektrum electronics are often 2-3x an equivalent brand of the same quality. Do your research and god help you if you end up requiring their "warranty"

Send the Senton
One of the best RC cars i have. It's quick and durable. Only issue is the cheap tires. Tore the sidewall on mine on 3rd pack. I know that's an expendable item, but 3 runs is crazy. Get good batteries or you will get the LVC. Clupless body is hit and miss. Some days works well some days it's finicky. Fun truck. I'd say it's quick and not so much fast. I have not hit the 50 MPH as advertised. Send it!

Fun as hell Get decent batteries.
This thing is awesome. Very durable. Fun on both 2s and 3s. Get batteries with 80c or higher. It is prone to low voltage cutoff if not.
