These are fantastic! I bought some others last year but it is a struggle to get them closed because they are a tad too small. These open a little more and the teeth are a little different. I measured mine and compared with their measurements and decided it was enough of a difference that they just might work. And they are perfect! I have medium thickness hair but it is coarse and wavy/curly and the clasp on traditional barrettes tends to get all tangled up in it and I worry about damaging my hair. These work perfectly to pull it back and lay flat like a barrette would. They are easy to open and close and my hair is secure - I don’t feel like it will slip out. The teeth keep a good grip on it. But when I straightened my hair, it was too slippery and the clip slid. So if your hair is straight and smooth, I don't think they will hold. But if if it is super thick and straight they might work or like in my case, somewhat thick with a lot of texture, waves/curls they work great. The colors are nice and neutral wardrobe colors and look just like the picture. An excellent purchase and a great price! I would love more color options though. Dark navy, white, off white (not yellow off-white tho), light gray.

Great little clips, but they hold a great amount of hair. Unlike other clips/ French barrettes, that fold on themselves with little room, these have space at the hinge, so they can hold more hair. My hair is curly (3C, super curly) and it works beautifully. I can fit all my hair in it for a pineapple/ high ponytail or use it for 1/2 up, 1/2 down styles. Clip stays put, and the deep teeth makes it work very well. I don’t know how it would hold for straight hair, though. Wish they came in more colors. Great buy.
