Because I Like to Hear the Ocean, Not the Sounds of a Helicopter Landing on the Beach
Before this Wind Assist, setting up our Shibumi Shade was like reenacting a scene from Twister. Every gust of wind turned me into a panicked mime trying to save my beach dignity while my family pretended not to know me. Enter this little genius gadget — the Wind Assist. Suddenly, it’s quiet. The shade stays put. I’m no longer shouting over flapping fabric like I’m narrating a live weather event. It’s so peaceful, I actually heard the ocean instead of my own despair. Installation? Easy. Noise reduction? Miraculous. My beach neighbors probably think we upgraded to VIP silence mode. My husband said, “It’s like the shade grew up and got a job.” We spent the whole day lounging in serene, flutter-free shade while other families battled their canopies like angry kites. For the first time, I left the beach relaxed instead of emotionally drained. 10/10. Turns chaos into calm, saves marriages, and lets you pretend you’re classy beach people. 🏖️

Shade stays up
Delivered as ordered. This is a perfect add-on for the Shibumi. Works great to prevent the shade from collapsing during periods of no or changing winds.

Great product!!!
this product does exactly what it was designed to do and very true to the videos and pictures!! Held up in some seriously fierce winds. We watched several canopies blow over, crumble, and collapse. This held up great! It definitely flapped pretty hard in the back but the front frame was very flexible so it handled high winds really really well. Even in the wind I was able to set it up by myself and carry it back home every day for two weeks at the beach! I wish there was a lot more colors because everybody on the beach had one so it was hard to tell ours apart and knowing if you want to get a new color you have to spend a lot I’m hoping they will sell just the shades at a discounted price so you can get a different color wothout spending another $200

Good addition
Helps to support when no wind and also cuts down on the noise when it’s really windy. I think the bags are a little over priced but they are well made and didn’t slip off

My dogs and I loved it!
This was wonderful to have at the beach. We set up early that morning and there was absolutely no wind so this helped with that. Later the wind did pick up and this kept the Shibumi from flapping which helped my little sable and white girl to stay out there longer. When Shibumi flaps in the wind, she gets scared of the noise from it as well as the constant movement.

Wind Assist Bags Don’t Work
This is our third summer with a Shibumi shade. Overall, it usually works very well—if there’s a steady breeze blowing in same direction. We bought these wind assist bags to help on those days the breeze isn’t cooperating. We have found them to be useless and a waste of money. Maybe if there were a way to attach a third bag at the center of the shade, they could be effective with three, but there isn’t. So until they redesign the shade for a center wind assist, don’t waste your money.

Exactly what it claims to be!
We had seen the Shibumi Shade Canopy last year and wanted to try it, so we purchased the classic. We love the ease of set-up, the ease of adjusting it, if needed, based on the direction of the wind. We especially love the light weight. We purchased the extra weight bags for the back corners, and one day we needed them. Some people were not using the weight on the front, but we felt better using it because we knew it would not blow backwards. A storm heading in was not problem because this canopy is as easy to take down as it is to put up. The colors are beautiful and perfect for the beach. Have a little shovel or cup hand to make it easier to put sand in the bags. Directions call for putting the pole in the ground 6 inches, but went deeper because ours came loose at 6 inches.
