Helps A TON! So Glad!
I am SO glad I finally bought this! I was really worried I was about to spend almost $150 on a piece of junk but I am so glad I took the chance. I live in apartment with two cats. We prefer to keep their litter boxes outside and leave our patio doors open all the time to allow them to go in and out at their leisure. It drives me nuts that this is not safe. Not to mention in the winter and summer I either freeze or sweat in order to avoid paying heating and cooling costs! I finally decided I'd had enough. I will admit that when I was reading the reviews for this I was thinking to myself, "There is no way it's that easy to install." And I wondered if the reviews were written by the sellers. But I decided to go for it. The instructions and all the stuff it says on the box will fool you into thinking it will be difficult but it's so crazy easy! I had no trouble at all! It literally look me less than 10 minutes! My aluminum sliding patio door is about 78" in height (from top to bottom on the inside track) and the *medium* size fits in just perfectly. I used the weather stripping included to form a seal. I cut the excess off and it looks okay. I didn't do the best job of that because I placed it before I cut it, so it works fine but it doesn't look beautiful. It comes with accessories and things for added security, but since we do not own our apartment I chose not to add those. That's why it was so easy and simple to install. I'm going to use the *Wedgit White Mini Twist Tight Adjustable Sliding Window & Door Lock* or the *Master Lock 265DCCSEN Dual-Function Security Bar* to keep the sliding panel from opening. Just to say though, I have this installed on the inner door where the sliding door opens and closes. I also have an outer screen door that this thing is barely too big for. I tried it and this DOES fit (it's just a teensy bit unsteady) in the screen door part. BUT I decided to put it where it's supposed to go because I can partly shut the screen door to disguise the pet door. I live in an apartment which is not on the ground floor and from the ground and stairs at any angle you cannot tell there is a pet door installed. It fits so great with my other door and is hidden by the screen (it's barely open, just enough to allow my pets to pass through) that you can't tell it's there. Before, you could tell I had my patio door partially open. I feel sooo much safer now that you can't tell my door is open! Speaking of safety, this comes with a doohickey you slide down to block the entrance. You don't have to take the door out to do it. You slide it down over the flap in these little guides on either side and it has a magnet thing that holds it in place. For privacy, if you're worried about that, there are spray paints out there for glass which make it look frosted and you can buy stencils and things to make a pretty design. I've seen people use special paints to make a pretty glass mural, use stencils to fake stained glass, etc. I've also seen people use those big sticker things people usually put on their walls on the glass, or contact paper. Or even pieces of lace glued to the frame. There a ton of ways to DIY this to make it look custom made or match your own decor. There are spray paints which are for metal you could use on the frame if you wanted! The weather stripping and the magnetic flap do a great job of keeping out drafts, but my cats hate the flap so we tend to keep it flipped up for them. We tuck an edge of the flap into the groove meant for the security doohickey and it stays pretty well. I have plenty of room to walk past it (I'm an average sized female and my husband is on the slim side, but we have a ton of room) and it stays just fine even if the other door isn't there. It's stable all on it's own and doesn't need the other door to stay put. The full width of our sliding glass door is about 70" and the half of the door which can be used is probably about half of that maybe? With the pet door installed, it's plenty of room for one person to walk through comfortably. Super easy to remove, especially if you don't drill to add locks and stuff. Snaps in and out. So I can take it out easily if I move, or for going out of town, etc. I'm a short woman who cannot lift super heavy things. I do a lot of the DIY type stuff around my home, fixing things, building things, etc. My husband can, but he works a lot so I don't like to trouble him unless it's something I don't trust myself to do. I was able to lift and install the door with zero help. The box is very tall and a pain, but that was the only difficult part!

Easy to install
Shipped complete, as shown, as one VERY long piece. It replaced an older version of the same brand. Very sturdy and secure. Fast shipping.

Good pet door
The sliding pet door is sturdy and easy to install. Especially like that installation did not require any cutting. Adjustable, spring-loaded top makes it easy to slide in place and remove. My application is to use it when I'm away, so I didn't install the hardware that came with the door to make it more permanent, but it looked easy to install. The only issue I have is that it's pretty drafty and let's in outside air, particularly if the wind is blowing. The door seal that was provided did not adhere well and it fell off completely. Perhaps if I roughed up the mounting surface it would have stuck better but didn't want to do that in the event we wanted to return the door. After deciding to keep the door, I purchased some sponge window weather seal, roughed up the sealing surface. The seal stuck well and problem solved. I also wedge in my sliding glass door security bar to put pressure on the door against the seal/pet door and now have a nice weather seal to keep outside air out. Overall, the pet door is sturdy, easy to install and remove, and solved my issue to let the dog in and out when I'm not at home.

Easy to install
My cat likes to sit on the outdoor balcony to watch the birds and the birds watch her. She would constantly meow to be let out and in again so someone recommended I get a pet door for the sliding glass door. I did not know that such an item existed. I did some research and this product did all that I needed at the best price. I was apprehensive whether it would fit. I measured the door frame several times and then placed the order. It fit just fine. Since I am a tenant I did not permanently install this insert for the sliding glass door frame. I also do not live on the first floor so burglars were not my primary concern. The insert has a spring mechanism at one end so you can easily insert or remove at will. The only problem I had is not even related to the product. The installer of the glass door did not level the frame and the entire mechanism leaves a gap. There are multiple videos on how to easily correct this but my sliding glass door is a lemon. There is no adjustment screw so I put in a maintenance request with property management. The maintenance person was just as confused as I was because there appears to be no adjustment screw. Also, my sliding glass door is not full width. So with the insert the space for entering and exiting is reduced significantly. In order to bring items in and out of the balcony I have to remove the pet door insert to allow enough room to access the balcony. Again, these are NOT issues with the product. The product is exactly what I needed and performs as promised. The glass panel is especially thick and durable. The issue I have is with the existing door frame and inferior workmanship that detracts from this great product. It was worth the money and even though my set up is flawed it works fine. Only took my cat about 24 hours to figure out the door. The dog took much longer and he is still timid. Magnetic closure on the pet door flap is secure and works well. I would strongly recommend.

Good, solid choice for the money
I thought this was a bit spendy, but it's a good, sturdy pet door for the money. Puppy paws at it pretty hard because she doesn't understand she can just walk through it, yet, and it holds up well. I like that the door flap closes with the magnet instead of flapping around, so it keeps the weather out. My only beef is the way it rattles, but I guess since it's not screwed in permanently, some of that is bound to happen. And I don't want to put holes in the frame, so that's the way it'll be. I'm happy with it, so far, and so are the pets!

Great solution, easy to install. Looks and works great!
This was the easiest sliding dog door I've ever installed. Incredibly simple and worked pretty perfectly on the first try. Did not have to do much adjusting. My only recommendation is to get some adhesive foam weather strip (tape) to put between the dog door panel and the slider as there very likely will be a small gap, no matter how perfectly you get it lined up. This will solve that problem. The product should come with it IMO but it doesn't.

Works, but Drafty
This sliding glass pet door does the job and is great for a no-cut, renter-friendly install. My dog uses it easily, and the fit is adjustable as advertised. But it definitely lets in some drafts, especially in colder weather. Functional and convenient, just not the best for insulation.

2 inch low step over for senior dogs and short pups
We have a double flap tunnel doggie door, but dogs are nervous about it, so this single flap works much better. It feels sturdy, installs without screws, and expands to fit the sliding door track. We can easily pop it out for storage or lawn work, which is exactly what we needed. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so we will add an insulated curtain and extra weatherproofing, but for training timid dogs or helping older pets who cannot step over a high threshold, this is perfect. The threshold is only about 2 inches high and the door itself is about 1 in thick. Good quality and the window feels thick.
