fast reader
Obviously the reader can only go as fast as the card allows, but the limiter is no longer the USB2 interface found on so many card readers.Pros:+ USB3+ SD and uSD+ small size for still reading full SD

Sturdy & Reliable MicroSD Card Reader
My need for SD card readers is only for cards in the microSD format, so this reader worked out perfectly for me. Its handle protects the card and is a verifying light that confirms the reader is properly installed in one of my desktop's USB 3.0 ports and its flashing lets you know that data is being exchanged with the microSD card.Being compact, I keep the DIVINEEAGLE Card Reader in one of my camera bag’s cover pockets. While it’s not the fastest file transfer reader, it’s fast enough to suit my purposes. I had no problem transferring to and retrieving 32 video files from my PC.The DIVINEEAGLE Card Reader is just what I wanted: a sturdy microSD card reader that reliably does the job it’s designed to do.

Reliable, but slow
I have some old micro SD cards laying around that I wanted to use in a USB slot, so I figured I'd give this reader a try and boy, is this thing slow. My old cards have read/write speeds of 28/27 MB/s (don't laugh), but in this reader, those speeds were knocked down to 18/16 - man, what the heck happened that it would reduce the speed by almost 33%? Obviously, this is not a reader to be used where speed is of the essence as I would definitely get something else that's faster. It does do the job, but very slowly.

Great Little SD memory adaptor
I have had many adaptors for SD to USB but this one is just right. It is not so small that it gets easily lost and it is not so big as to get in the way. I like that the SD card sticks out a little so you can easily tell that it is still in there. As for speed ... SD flash memory is not exactly fast. When I run WINSAT I get a Random Read Speed of 11.64MB/s when I plug the reader into my fastest USB port (Thunderbolt 4). It's about the same as any other USB port on my computer. The problem is not the reader but the SD Memory. I have a 128mb Sandisk Extreme micro SDXC A2 which is the fastest I could buy. When I compare that to my Portable SSD I can get 40 times the speed on the SSD. The reader makes good use of the available speed of the SD flash memory. The reader does not have locking retention, so you need to push the memory in before each use to make sure the memory is well seated. That is the one drawback.Overall, this Micro SD card reader met my expectations, and the price is good for the value.

Lanyard hole doubles as protection for the SD card.
All readers are pretty much alike when you look at read/write speeds as they are just pinouts to the SD card directly. What I like about this one is the back half of the reader has a white LED white clearly shows you activity on the card. And as I mentioned in the headline - the SD card itself is well protected by the lanyard loop.Overall a sweet little setup for a good price.

It worked for photos
It worked for uploading some photos from my camera disk and makes a good back-up for that. I don't need or do any high-speed. It comes with no instructions or examples of use, which would have been helpful, as would a video with the listing. Being a total amateur, I had trouble getting the tiny SD card inserted correctly with the correct orientation at first and thought I might have the wrong slit for the wrong card, but finally saw another reviewer's photo that helped. It is also not easy to grip this card arrangement with the fingers for removal.

I like the design, speed is a bit slow
So I tested this device with multiple USB 3 ports on my computer and used a high quality high speed micro SD card from a very highly trusted brand. Maximum speed is less than 19 MB/s. Good for my purposes but perhaps not truly a high speed card reader.I do like that the device lights up when you insert it into a USB port. It also blinks very clearly when the device is actually reading and writing files. There's little protection for the card itself though. It doesn't insert fully into the reader.
