Love R&F oil pigment sticks. So easy to use on art projects. Colors are beautiful and soft. Quality is excellent! Fun and easy to use.

My go to oil paint stick. Rich colors, highly pigmented, easy to blend. Can be used on multiple surfaces, including encaustic.

Very hard to say everything that must be said about them in a short review, but bottom line is I cannot recommend them highly enough. May be wise to start with a trial set if you're not sure because they are so expensive. But I loved them and so I now have about 30 colors. They are just so nice and so fun to use. You do need more colors of these than you do with tube paints. This set of 10 in particular does not come with a white or black, and you should definitely order those. I would also recommend a gray, a brown, a purple, and an orange. They work perfectly in conjunction with tube paints, and the same solvents and oil media you would use with tube paints. I've done whole paintings with just drawing with these directly on the canvas and then a little brushing to finish and blend parts; I've also done a whole painting with these by mixing chunks of them on a palette with oil to make liquid paint; and everything in between. Bottom line is these are a top of the line, super-premium product, crammed with extreme concentration of the best pigments, easily more than capable of being used for professional work, and very much worth their high price.

Having expensive materials isn’t a substitute for a good idea. However, if you’re at a point in your creativity where you feel like the quality of the materials will being out the best in your well developed ideas, this pigment stick should be part of it. It is a high quality pigment that has the feeling of rarity and real earth origins. It’s buttery but not too rich. Obvs with these mediums you have some control over the application based on the temperature of your hand as well as the environment you’re working in. But generally, this is one of the better oils sticks all around and is worth the price if the work your using it on can benefit from its quality.

Loved the color and the product. Very golden and glittery, bit Hard to control. Very soft. Ended up using my finger to control how much went on canvas. Takes weeks to “cure” so have to use caution. Extremely golden but sheer. If you want gilded leaf look, this is not it. But great addition to my art supply collection.

Love love love. Top quality, deep, rich color. A joy to use for monoprinting.

R&F pigment sticks are great!I bought some several years ago and decided to purchase the Painters Dozen . A great deal! Rich colors, easy to work with. I love them. They arrived when expected too.

Beautiful medium to work with. If you like working in oil pastels this is the next step. A bit messier but you can cover far more ground!
