that is wrong description about the 0.78" Anti-scald from the edge. Actually , the Anti-Scald area is 2" from edge. I contact the manufacturer about the heat area issue. They said this is the normal.

It's great that it's lightweight but packs a powerful punch. I had it on low, with two large tinfoil chafing pans and it kept the meat hot throughout our 10 hour meeting. I can't imagine what it would do on high! I like that you can place different containers (NOT PLASTIC/STRYOFOAM ETC). but cooking dishes, glass etc. of course. Since we had BBQ on it for the meeting (brisket and pulled pork) it got messy. It was SO EASY to clean! I took a wet cloth and simply wiped it down. Nothing stuck which was great, I was afraid of the BBQ sauce sticking to the hot surface and being an issue. nope! the cord is a good length and come more towards the front, but I was able to redirect it to the back just going underneath the system.
