Gift for Percy Jackson Fan
My 9-year-old loves the Piece Jackson series. It’s not heavily-merchandised, so sometimes you have to look for “close enough” items. This has been a decent approximation of Percy’s sword, Riptide (anaklusmos). My son wished it were a little longer and looked a little more like “celestial bronze”, but he has played with it quite a bit and enjoys it.Having bought these kinds of swords before, instruct your kids that they are not meant for hard hitting against objects, as the foam will break. No issues with this sword so far, but don’t expect for it to survive super rough play.At least it’s soft enough that when a younger sibling gets ahold of it there’s not as much risk of them whipping someone so hard as to cause injury. For that reason I would prefer the foam swords over hard plastic ones any day.

Phenomenal Sword!!
I bought this to be used as a display piece in my office, and initially had low expectations. Because of the price. Price. I couldn't have been more pleased when it arrived at the high quality and appearance. It looks fantastic! Any dwarf Lord would be proud to wield this glorious example of elven craftsmanship!!It looks great, shipped fast, and I may actually buy a second just to have in another room!!

Terrible; Not Safe
Not a larp safe product by any measure. Almost the same hardness as tire rubber. This is not foam.

Really really beautiful sword! Looks surprisingly like real metal. It is a prop, not a toy!
The media could not be loaded. This is a seriously beautiful sword. This is waaaaay better than the usual fake swords you get at places like Spirit. This is good enough to be used on the stage. Mine is the "A style, 39 inches". It has an classic look to it, not anime, with pseudorunes and an only slightly curved blade. It really does look like metal. Probably closest to shiny stainless steel, to lose a bit of the romanticism for a minute, but that's the sort of metal it gives the illusion of being. You could genuinely fool someone from a distance of any further than about 10 feet. The grip is ridged for traction and the sword is quite comfortable in the hand. The balance point is about 3 to 4 inches from the cross guard – I'm sorry I left that out in the video - and it is very light. The cross guard has enough of a hook on it to look a bit more WoW modern like, and the pommel has a barb on it that probably wouldn't have been a very good idea were this used as an actual weapon! but gives the sword a more protective and fanged (or "fangéd") look. The beveling is wonderful! I am very pleased with the beveling. The sword is very ... organic, I guess is the word. All of the parts of it go well together. It looks like a complete thing, and I've seen more than a few prop swords in my lifetime. Speaking of: as I comment on in the video, this is a PROP. It isn't a toy, even the sort that you play with among other grown-ups at the park with a small scattering of amused but still rather fascinated onlookers. It's foam, and it will bend, scratch, and break. But it's very stiff on the tip compared to a good old-fashioned boffer foam sword, and while you'd have to hit exactly the right spot and use an awful lot of force, there is a genuine potential you could hurt someone. Not enough to kill them, but enough. Most likely you'd just give them a pretty bad bruise, but this is not for play, and if it got too near an eye there would be problems. Please assume it's just going to make you look like the coolest person in the room, which means you don't have to prove anything anyway. So again, it's very well-made and looks very real! It is foam, and it will damage and can be damaged. Please treat it accordingly. I wish it had a sheath - the one drawback - but you can probably make your own. Maybe they'll end up selling one separately.

A little flimsy
This sword is very flimsy for a LARP sword. Be careful with it because it is no where near as thick of foam as I have seen and have purchased with other foam replicas. I'm a little concerned how it will hold up.

Not larp approved
If you're looking to use this for larp don't waste your money. The padding is insufficient, I was not allowed to use this in game. When I tried to use it for fun out of game the tip bent right away. Product name/description is misleading. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is that the design is really nice and if you're only using it for aesthetics it's worthwhile.
