CitizenQuartz Mens Watch, Stainless Steel with Leather strap, Casual, Black (Model: BI5000-01A)

The media could not be loaded. Bought a 38mm Timex Easy Reader with leather straps before this, but boy was it loud. I prefer leather straps over hard-to-adjust stainless steel. This watch was double the price of the Timex, but it’s the cheapest you will find with a similar aesthetic and proven quality from Citizen. It’s also whisper quiet (see video). It’s 39mm, instead of 38mm, but I actually prefer the slight bump in size for a men’s watch and it’s hardly noticeable. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and it fits perfect. Glad I finally found my go-to for the office!

Saved a whopping $5 during Amazons Black Friday sale, don't be jealous.Really like the look of the watch itself, don't like the really cheap looking made in China watch band so that came off immediately and replaced with a decent top grain leather one.It has kept perfect time so far. With an all silver watch, you can throw about any watch strap on and it will look pretty good. Its a good watch for under $100 if your looking for one you can dress up or down and you don't mind switching out the battery every few years. Citizen is the only watch maker left that I know of that states they have a 5 year warranty, the rest of the manufactures that I have looked into give either a 1 or 2 year warranty even the one's over $1k.

Citizen is a quality brand and their products are reliable. At a distance, this is an elegant looking product, easily confused with brands that cost 10 to 100x as much. You could wear this with a tux to the White House and not look out of place. The band isn't great-- it's not leather or crocodile. But the face is handsome and the movement will be of the highest quality. I've worked in the industry-- believe me, a Citizen is way more likely to keep time accurately than a Rolex.

I was reluctant to buy this watch because the "customer images" on the page depicted what appeared to me to be a really big case. Since the product description included the specifications which put the case at 39mm, I sort of ignored the picture. I'm glad I did - I've been looking for a classic beauty for a while now, and this one totally fit the bill. I don't have big wrists, so I'm really careful not to get something that makes me look like I'm wearing a wall clock on my arm. This size is perfect - clearly a man's watch, but not overbearing. The crystal is flat-- not rounded at the edges, I mean-- and the dial is white (although to my eye it has a vague but appealing polished sheen to it). As a result, this watch is really easy to read at a glance. The hands are detailed to glow in the dark, but besides that, don't expect bells and whistles. You get the date and the time, but you'll look snappy doing it. This is just a great looking and unpretentious classic watch - I highly recommend it!

Bought it as a gift — a classic “first watch”. Looks good at a decent price. Quartz mechanism is reliable.
