Really well presented
I like the presentation of this book – it is pleasant to the eye Apart from that, the recipes are solid. Not only that, the author provides additional information such as type of water to use in baking, the different types of flour and a host of other useful information. Well done!

This is a very thorough guide, starting at the beginning but taking you through to becoming very competent.

Ai generated
Chat gpt generated book. Copied straight of the internet with no character at all. No author mentioned and the images in black and white

Interesting, but there are other much better recipe books
I liked the explanation and science behind how sourdough bread is made. However, I was not so keen on the layout of the recipes and would prefer if metric units were also included.

Annoying.
I began to dislike this book a few pages in and began to doubt whether the author Sirena Simonds is a real person. The contents seemed to be cobbled together by AI, there has been little thought about the book design and has clearly never been proof read. The illustrations have all been trawled from the internet. The ingredient measurements are chaotic and confusing. Disappointing

Written for USA
Returned this item as it uses Imperial units (pounds and ounces) whereas we have been using metric units for many years. Also some of the illustrations are not very clear.

Useful
I've been wanting to learn how to make sourdough for a while, so that book was just the ticket. It's a simple how-to that is straightforward to follow and a good beginners' guide.

A triumph
I found this to be quite a comprehensive guide,’it gave me an intricate understanding of how to cultivate, maintain, and use my sourdough starter. The book brilliantly balances practical advice with scientific insights, making it accessible for me as a beginner while still offering valuable information to what I guess are seasoned bakers. It covers the entire lifecycle of a sourdough starter, from the initial cultivation to its daily care, ensuring that readers are well-equipped to nurture a healthy and robust starter.I used the book's guidance to create my own sourdough starter from scratch. I ventured into baking my first loaf of sourdough bread, which turned out to be a triumph—a crispy, golden crust with a chewy, tangy interior. The book also provided excellent recipes for pizza dough, which I tried next and have even frozen some pizza dough for later.
