Being most effective in an arid, dry climate and perhaps largely due to a misunderstanding of what to expect from an evaporative cooler, some reviewers have been disappointed with its performance. The machine combines a powerful fan with a cool air humidifier but does not itself ‘produce’ cold air like an air conditioner does. So, if used in an already humid environment, it further increases the ambient humidity by adding cool humid air to hot humid air, resulting in even muggier air, rather than producing the desired cooling effect. Too, it must be placed with its back to slightly opened door or window, or it will not have the necessary airflow to achieve optimal performance. If the unit has not been used for a while and the cooling pad has dried out, the next time it is turned on with the humidify function activated, you should briefly hear water dripping down the cooling pad to reactivate it. If you don’t hear it, just call customer service for over the phone resolution. Living in the American Southwest, I am accustomed to what to expect from evaporative (swamp) coolers and I like this product very much. It offers numerous options for operation, has a decent size water tank and is ready to go with very minimal assembly. Rather than taking the tank in and out to fill, I use a pitcher and on hotter days, add ice cubes to the water. This is in my opinion more effective than using plastic ice packs. The fan is powerful enough to noticeably cool my entire one-bedroom apartment, which I find is reflective of the quality and utility for which Dreo fans are known. The warranty is an impressive 30 months, which shows their commitment to customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this product to other shoppers, per the above-mentioned operational stipulations.

Yah buy this one ! it works great and keeps any room I put it in cool in the summer ! They different speeds are great normally keep mine at 2 , I like that you have a choice to use it with water or without and even without water it still cools nicely. I have had no problems with water or sound it’s easy too fill up too and Ice pack doesn’t take long to freeze I only put one in the fan at a time.

I'm currently sitting about 12-15 ft. from it and can feel it on a setting of 2. Feels like a gentle breeze on a cool day. I've had this for about a month now and I enjoy the versatility of this fan. First of all, it does put out a lot of air. Box fan: in the trash. Pedestal fan: now an outside decoration for my morning glories. Now, this is using this as a fan only and not as an AC. For me it feels like it covers more space- if that makes sense and for me it's really quiet compared to box and pedestal fans. Setup was SUPER easy. Snaped the base together, twisted into locking position, and after getting the cord in place was ready to go. Less than 7 min from opening the box and I was already testing it out. Cooling: We found using ice packs did bring the air coming out of the unit down 2 degrees lower then ambient temp. We also found similar slim ice packs at Wally and bought two more. We currently run Distilled water to reduce on scale buildup and usually don't run the ice water except if it's 95 or above outside. We also found that filling it full with the packs would last us aprox six hours before it would reach empty line. Cons: It is a bit top heavy and will wobble if/when moved. Personally, I found a spot for it and pretty much leave it alone. I don't particularly like the base, it feels a tiny bit flimsy for the quality of the rest of the fan. Con2: Which isn't really a con, but more of a nuisance because I'm scared to break the thing if I do what the book says...but, pulling out the tank at the bottom.. I usually sit on the floor, put my foot against the base to keep it steady and keep it from sliding all over, and just pull the tank out as far as it will go without resistance. Now, that said... The manual says you should reach down into the tank and press the tabs on either side of the pump...uh, yeah first of all, I'm not reaching in there no matter how clean cuz my hands too big... and the tank will then easily slide out. So, it will or should pull out far enough to add water and slide the frozen bricks in and out. So far, so good. I love it and am glad I purchased.

I live in California where it’s HOT. Out of all the rooms in the house, my room is the hottest during peak times because the sun sets on my side of the window. The last few days, the temperature 98 degrees. I decided to put this fan to use and it is definitely a game changer. The fan speed is perfect and not noisy at all. I have not encountered any problems on it yet. The quality of the fan is very sleek. It is a little bulkier only because it has a water tank. I do not mind that at all. It comes with two ice packs which you can use. I have not had the chance to use it yet since I have been filling the water tank with cold water. I bought a 1 gallon water jug to store in the fridge for just this fan. All in all, I am currently loving this fan. The only downside of it is that it does get the room pretty humid. You will not notice the humidity until you walk out of the room for 10-15 min then come back. I tend to keep my window open just so it won’t be so stuffy. Regardless of the window open or not, the fan still stays pretty cool. The real test is when the temperature if 100+°F in California. I will update this after the heat wave that is coming this week.

I bought this in 2024 when summer came. Thinking I could save money on electric bill if I just cool off my room at night. It started pretty good. The drawer that holds the water was hard to open and close. Irritating but I could live with it. It's quite a bit of work to fill tank put cold packs in and then in the morning clean it out. Ok. As long as I save money. I packed it up when winter came and stored it. A year later I unpacked it to use. It made a horrible noise when using the cold water air. I checked everything. If I left the drawer open an inch it would stop but soon it started up again. Now I can only use the fan. Then the fan started making a noise!! Now I can't use it at all!! A year later. Ridiculous!! I will never buy this product again or anything from this manufacturer or seller!! If you do buy it make sure you pay for the warranty. Frankly NOT WORTH IT!!
