Ceramic drip filter works just as well as the high end filters, only at a fraction of the cost! Designed with intention to clean water and purify for drinking. Filters also fit the Berkey and Royal Filtration System. Perfect for emergency/camping/survival situations. This filter removes 98% of bacteria with a .2 micron efficiency and 99.00% of water-borne bacteria and suspended solids with a 0.5 micron efficiency which exceeds NSF standards. The ceramic filter can be cleaned with a soft brush at least 100 times, and it produces 28 gallons of drinking water per day. Simply double stack two clean buckets with lids, drill a 1/2" hole in the bottom of the top bucket and through the top of the bottom buckets lid, and install filter in the bottom of the top bucket. Fill the top bucket with water from a lake, rain, tap, river or stream and in an hour you will have bacteria free water to drink in the bottom bucket. Capable of a flow rate of 10 liters per minute at 43.5 PSI. 99.99% filtration efficiency at 0.5 microns, and a 99.99% effective reduction of suspended solids. Eliminates most bacterium and microbes with 99% efficiency but will not filter out viruses. Non-returnable, buckets not included. Replaces Doulton, Berkefeld and other candle style ceramic water filters. Affordable answer to our horrible tasting tap water
We use these with food grade 5 gallon buckets to filter our nasty tasting tap water. We run about 7 gallons a week through it, and each filter lasts for about 4 months before we have to replace it - so it's only costing $10 a month or about 33¢ per gallon, Which is MUCH cheaper than buying bottled water, or spend hundreds of dollars for a built in system!

These work really well to remove chlorine taste and smell. I can't say if it removes anything else as that's all we have in our rural municipal water system. Have been using these for 2 years now and will continue to buy. We set up a bucket system in the laundry room and use that for cooking and drinking, and installed shower head filters in both bathrooms. We have used foreign-made filters in the past (not from Amazon) and they worked well too, but sometimes we would receive one cracked and have to toss it. Be sure to open all packages and check for breakage, just in case. Made in America---BIG PLUS!
