Secure kids toy.
These things are great to give your kids the walkie talkie experience without exposing them to any local creep with a radio. They use a band between 2414 and 2474Mhz with a max rf transmission of 0.01W.They are about the size of a cordless landline, but a little shorter and wider (Only one can transmit at a time so they function as walkie talkies and not a short range phone). Volume adjustment does not get quiet as I'd like at the low end but they are plenty loud. Voice quality is fantastic, super clear thanks to the digital transmission. Slight delay. Visual indication on the device showing if it connects or not to the other while trying to transmit.Has a few simple games, if the other unit transmits while you are playing a game, it rings like a phone and you can choose to deny the transmission and keep gaming or answer it and close the game.

Low-powered Walkie-Talkie toys for kids. Range is comparable to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
This review is for the VTech KidiGo Walkie Talkies DX for Kids (Model: 5725). To put this product into proper context, consider these walkie-talkies as toys rather than serious communications equipment. While the $33 price at the time of review might be similar to some FRS-based radios, they are an entirely different product category. Based on the FCC filing for the KidiGo Walkie Talkies DX, the average transmit power (and thus distance) appears comparable to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. While the published range is up to 600 feet, the maximum practical range I observed with a clear line of sight between the two units was ~300 feet (or the length of a football field without endzones). Inside the house, the range was much shorter; you could sometimes go from one end of the house to the other with some difficulty. The flashlight feature is handy; I wish more devices had it. It's not particularly bright, but it's certainly usable for looking under a bed, navigating from your tent to the bathroom, etc. In my opinion, the multi-functional LCD screen is somewhat underutilized. While the walkie-talkies can send texts and graphics to each other, you can only choose from canned messages. It would have been much more interesting to give these devices a number pad with T9 input capability and allow multiple units to be paired. You could pretend to have a private small-cell network and talk to all devices, talk to a specific device, send custom messages, etc. As it stands, the main value proposition of the VTech KidiGo Walkie Talkies DX is that you have well-constructed, kid-friendly, and, most importantly, functional walkie-talkies. Also, for parents concerned about RF radiation, these walkie-talkies are an order of magnitude lower power than RFS radios.Notes:1) Each unit requires 3x AAA batteries. Batteries are included.2) The Walkie Talkies support RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator), which is neat. You can always tell, at a glance, if you're in range of the other unit.

Good quality, no where near the range, other quirks
Build quality for these are pretty good. Should be able to survive a couple of 6 year olds playing with it.Connecting the pair happens automatically when you turn them on.Flashlight is a bit weak but it works. Flashlight can either be solid or blinking. The games are really simplistic. Like old Nokia phone snake simplistic, but not as fun. Both units had trouble playing the two player game mode, even when they were right next to each other. The range claim of 600' is horribly wrong, whether in the house or outside. In the house, we can get maybe 20 feet before they aren't paired and can't communicate. Outside is a bit better but 50 feet was max. Maybe my units are faulty.Talking on these is a bit frustrating compared to regular walkie talkies. You need to hold the talk button and wait a second or two for a confirmation beep before being allowed to talk (I believe this makes it so the other unit can't try to talk at the same time). It was a bit frustrating for me and my kid to learn how to use that function. The message sending is a gimmick really. He didn't find it very fun. It's all pre set pictures and sounds.

Fun walkie talkies
These do so much more than regular walkie talkies, which is a good and bad thing. You will need to read the instructions, but are easy to use once you figure them out. They can send text message greetings, play 2 player games, and use fun effects like voice changing.

So cool!
These are a big hit with the kids that are too young to have a real phone. The range is ok, they are fairly easy to use, work well, pretty good quality and made by a really good company. A little pricey but they do so much more than just a normal kids walkie talkie so I recommend.

Loads of fun
These are excellent walkie talkies for younger kids. These come pre-installed with 4-games that you can play or challenge a friend with. A flash light. Pre-installed messages that you can send to the other walkie talkies vie “email” or “messages”. VTech is a quality and well known brand in the kids electronics and educational industry, these hold true to their amazing reputation. The walkie talkies are clear and work well. They go up to 600 feet, which is great for little kids playing around the house. These are NOT water resistant. These do have a nice big screen that is backlit. These walkie talkies do require 6-AAA batteries which it does come with some preinstalled in them but it recommends putting fresh new batteries in.Overall these are an excellent value and loads of fun for kids to play with. My granddaughters have enjoyed these greatly.

Hours and hours of fun! 🤩
Super fun toy that works great! My grand kids love these walkie-talkies. They have come a long way since I was a kid! These work so well and you can hear so clearly. There’s a bunch of extra features on this set like a flashlight or games. Pretty cool. They seem to be super durable and should last a long time. At the current price of $33.63, they are a great deal!
