Worth the money
I couldn't be happier with a lens I could hardly see the bird with my eyes but I managed to take this picture

Fixing to camera
Only just arrived, seems good for the money, however, it doesn't seem to "lock" onto the camera very securely and seems likely that in adjusting the lens, it could become detached from the camera.Fixing securely seems like a fairly basic requirement.I have since been contacted by the manufacturer, they made a suggestion which proved successful. Great service from them.

Shoot in manual only
Item received in good condition in a branded box. The lens is actually nicely made and has a decent build quality to it along with some good instructions that will help clear up some of the issues that you might have with the lens from the off. This is much cheaper than what you would expect to pay for such a lens however I can see how they have got around this as this is a fully manual lens and the first issue is your camera will not recognise that there is a lens attached. The brand do not try and hide from this and give you help on how to get around this which works easily for me. There is no tech in the lens that will talk to the camera and cutting out this cost is one way to keep the lens cost lower considerably.Younger people will no doubt be a little freaked out by this manual way of photography however if like me you are slightly older and you learned to shoot only in manual and on film and develop them yourself then this throwback was actually quite a refreshing experience from the super modern tech.As far as the lens goes it is actually rather good for amateurs and those that like to try and get some good shots. I like to photograph out to sea and passing ships and wildlife and so I have been trying to get some good images with this. I am actually enjoying using it as it makes you use lots more of the cameras functions shooting in manual and without auto shoot functions. Image quality is quite good and fully extended its quite a size so I would recommend a tripod to stabilize your camera when using.

Pretty much what you'd expect for the price
This is an odd lens with a lot of movement in the zoom/focus mechanisms and no aperture control, as it only changes alongside the focal length. It is a big, fairly heavy metal lens. While the lack of auto focus make sit inappropriate for most uses, it can take decent quality images and is very long for the price. It is both my longest and cheapest lens and I have had fun testing it out. If you've not got much money but want to experiment with longer lenses, I think you'd probably have fun with this, and with enoigh persistence you might get some good images with it. It's better than I expected, but a strange one.

Good Reasonable Lens
Bought for my 13 yr old son for his train spotting exploits. He loves it and though struggled a little bit with the lens at first, especially the locking and unlocking managing to take the whole thing apart whilst moving the lens to the right mm, he has got the hang of it now.
