Reflux in babies is when milk goes into your baby’s stomach, but then comes back up into their oesophagus – or food pipe. Regurgitation is when milk goes into your baby’s stomach, but then comes back up into, or out of, their mouth.

How long does reflux last in babies?

Reflux usually starts before a baby is 8 weeks old & usually resolves itself before their first birthday. If baby gets reflux for the first time after 6 months old, or is older than 12 months and still has reflux, make an appointment with your GP.
