This is the dashboard clock I’ve been looking for my whole life. Small, elegant. All the info I need at a glance. And best of all it lights up automatically, with a soft blue glow that’s easy to read in the dark. To conserve battery life the light doesn’t jut stay on, the smart design detects darkness then provides backlight with a motion (bump) sensor. When driving at night the movement keeps backlight on, but say it’s dark and I’m napping at a rest stop I just tap it on top and poof the backlight is on long enough to read the screen. There is an internal battery that must be the one charged by the little solar panel on back- this cell keeps the setting accurate while you’re changing the pair of watch batteries it requires. I have been using mine for months and haven’t yet noticed any dimming of screen. Setting is easy and the backlight feature can be switched off if not needed. It keeps good time once set up. My only quibble is the thermometer that only reads down to freezing (32°f). Below that you’re out of luck gauging temp as it stays a consistent 32° even if it’s below zero. Weird to have a thermometer with that limitation frankly. Once above freezing it behaves normally. This came with only a tiny square of sticky tape for mounting, which may work for you. I made a Velcro fastener for it to attach to my dash so I can remove it when I need to change the batteries etc. I highly recommend this clock.

I'm a substitute school bus driver. One bus I subbed on had one of these. It had probably been in use on that bus for several years. I subbed on it for almost a month and loved having this! Usually clocks on the bus are unreliable since there is no backup clock battery for when the vehicle battery is disconnected, so having this separate helps me stay on time for the route. It glows frequently when it's dark, reminding me of the time. The solar panels are nice and seem to work well. When I no longer had it on the bus I was subbing, I had to order my own. I have had some small issues with it but IMHO they aren't a big deal. The adhesive it comes with will eventually fail, and the bottom is smooth making it easy to slide around. My solution for that was a ball of tacky wall mounting putty. That way it sticks well but I can still move it from bus to bus with me. When I ordered my own, it was delivered in my mailbox across the highway. It sat there overnight before I retrieved it. It was a frigid Utah winter night. When I opened the package and turned it on, all that came on was the back light. Disappointed, I assumed it was dead on arrival and that I would have to order a replacement. However, after it was inside for a couple hours and warmed up, it gradually started working. The LCD came on for a couple seconds before shutting off. Then finally it started working normally. I was able to set the time and configure the temp units. Looks like this unit is from ca. 2009 since I think that was the default year. I'm not sure about how often the batteries need to be changed. I would hope the solar panels keep it topped off. But I guess I'll see in a year or two how that pans out. Overall, very happy with this small, reliable clock with no strings (I mean wires) attached.

I bought this for the clock. So far, the clock and date are working. But, my husband looked at the temperature, and asked if it was really 89.9°F in the car. I told him maybe it just hadn't readjusted yet, as we had been in the store for a short time. Well, while we were driving, we had fans on and a window open. The thermometer changed to 91°F. It was only 69°F outside. It wasn't very hot in the car. So, my estimate is that the thermometer is reading approximately 20° warmer than it actually is. Maybe other clocks work properly. Like I said, I didn't buy this one for the thermometer.

In many modern cars you mostly use carplay while driving. Carplay do display current time, but the clock displayed is very tiny and hard to locate with just a quick glance while driving. This is true on both cars we have. So wanted to find a separate clock with a larger display. I bought a few others car clocks from Amazon but today's cars don't give you many options to place a separate watch, especially if it needs external power. Finally I stumbled across this car clock that is solar charged (for backlight at night) and has a separate battery for timekeeping and running the LCD display. The clock is easy to place on the dashboard. The time display is large and easy to read. The display lights up at night (but not to bright). I am very happy with the purchase and bought a second one so we now have this car clock in both cars.

This clock looked great on my dashboard. I stopped working in less that 1 month. I played around with it and removed battery and put it back. It worked again 1 more week. I would like it replaced but Amazon says I missed the window by a week. This is BS!

Can be tough to read depending on how bright or dark it is outside. Put on dash of work van and a struggle to see the time often. Not worth returning but not worth buying again.

Product was what I needed and was very simple to set up. The plastic package was open in shipping bag and the3M tape to attaché to car was missing, not a big deal I have the tape. Could be an issue for some one else. love the fact it is solar, very convenient

I like this product a lot. It does just what I was hoping it would -- allow me to see the time easily when driving, even at night. The numbers are a good size, easy to read. I think the reviews that complain the day of the week is incorrect miss the step that sets the year. If you follow the directions carefully and set the year, the day of the week is correct. Pay attention to the size, as the unit is not small. I wish there was a small version of this item with just the time (that's what I really wanted) but this is the next best thing. The temperature part, unfortunately, is completely worthless (mine is high by about 40 degrees F). If you don't need the temp, I would totally recommend.

Was a good clock but returned it because I saw another clock with more features.

Thats I am looking for big clear screem, with temperature, date- month-year plus good price. So I ordered 3 more for other cars.

Very good, very recommended and don't need batteries since it's solar powered
