Works great on a Bonafide XTR130
I have a very large Kayak, Bonafide XTR130, and with two large adults this will push us to 6mph fully loaded. Paired it with a Li-Time branded 36v battery.Only negative is for the tilt on the motor. It's a little flimsy if you want to lift it up for clearance. I will probably add another clamp so that is more secure and see if the aluminum aftermarket steering control from a Torqepeedo fits.

Excellent kayak motor with great trolling speed
I have a couple hard shell kayaks, and I've used a much lower grade motor on my Perception sit in kayak before with pretty decent success. In the end, while it was nice to help out with paddling, letting me troll around the lakes, I found it lacking in power and more trouble than it was worth, so I only ended up using it on rare occasions. Since then I'd been wanting to try a higher power system, and after looking at the specs of this one, I knew I had to give it a shot.Note: I will need to come back and update this review as the 36v battery I've had for some time died, which limited my ability to put this through a longer term use review. Worth noting, the battery failure had nothing to do with the motor, it was just timing. Once I replace it, I'll get some more run time in and update my review.Pros:+ Compatible with several different types of batteries.+ Lots of power, and can hold a good solid speed for quite some time with the proper battery.+ I found it easy to mount, however my kayak had already been setup for a trolling motor before, so be sure to pay attention to your own kayak's mounting options.+ Very quiet running.+ Can mount it to pretty much anything with a rigid surface.+ Has a nice solid build, and excellent features like the throttle and LCD dash.+ Brushless motor.Cons:- Not so much a con as something worth noting. If you don't already have a 36v battery, you will need to factor that into your purchase as those can range from $400-$1500+ and will directly impact the amount of power and runtime you get.- Expensive: It cost almost as much as my kayak. That being said, for the power, and what you get, I feel it is worth it.Overall, despite the failure of my battery, I'm quite happy with this drive system. It mounts with little to no effort, especially in my case thanks to prior experience, and it is lightweight and compact enough to not get in the way. Of course, the drive from the motor helps quite a bit on long paddles, and having the ability to either paddle or drop the motor and use the throttle is a luxury that can't be understated, especially if you're an angler. While my use with it got cut short, during my time with it I was convinced fairly quickly just how good the system is, and if it is something you're considering, I feel it is definitely worth trying out. The first time you throttle back you'll know where your money went.

Perfect for my Kayak!
A great way to troll around in your kayak. I have used this a half dozen times while on my cabin's lake and it is quite powerful for being such a small device. I go every bit of the 6mph it say you can reach. Installing it is really easy and paper instructions are included if needed. Be aware you will need to add a battery on this purchase. However, it is well worth it to be able to go from one side of the lake to other. A great way to find the hot spots for fishing.

Top speed is pointless
No need for 36v motor they should have left it alone at 24v 180 model top speed is pointless it drains battery so fast!!!

Super nice Kayak Motor
This Newport NK300 Electric Kayak Motor is their newest model and is a 3HP Equivalent motor that is 36V w/ a Brushless Direct Drive. Although it states for Kayaks, it can be adapted to work on virtually any small boat! The motor is solid and the controls are state of the art. If you're looking for a new motor for your fishing needs, this is a great choice. 5 stars and high recommendation from me!

Has great and firm frame
The media could not be loaded. The product is made with high-quality materials and features a strong frame. It’s lightweight, yet powerful. The only potential drawback is that you may need a good battery to support it, but aside from that, it offers excellent quality, works very well, and is easy to install and use.
