Very black! Not super concentrated but that's okay. It's hard to get a black butter. I have to sue quote a bit but it gets black very fast.

These gel food colors work well when mixing in with icing for cupcakes and other desserts. The colors are bright and have no taste, so they may be mixed with any flavor.

I'm a professional pastry chef and I have worked with many brands and types of food color, from liquids to gels to powders and sprays. This is a good starter set of gel color with many shades to choose from and they are comparable to Americolor which I consider the gold standard of food color. This set is also vegan, kosher, and halal which is important when I serve certain clients. I see that some have commented about colors not being vibrant and deep, and it's not just this set of colors, that happens with all food coloring, even concentrated gel-pastes. There are tricks to getting deep vibrant colors, the easiest being to mix the color in, and let it sit overnight. Another trick is to partially heat buttercream after the color is added, and then chill it back down and re-mix to the right consistency, When it comes to blacks and reds, it's true, you do need to use more than you think, and that is one problem with this set: each bottle is small and often doesn't have the amount you need to get deep reds and blacks. So this is a good starter set. If you're looking for deep colors, you can utilize the tips I mentioned above and also buy bigger amounts of the color you're looking for.

I bought this package of food colorings based on high reviews. It was a huge mistake. They are NOT returnable and they are NOT vibrant. I used almost all of the BLACK to make BLACK noses for dog cookies and had to buy another brand black to complete the task to actually get black not grey . The orange never came out orange but more of a sherbert color and royal blue was a very soft blue. I was highly disappointed in this product and do not recommend it at all. I only wish I could return it and had used a name brand food coloring. I have now learned my lesson and will never buy food coloring on amazon again
