A lot of fun; a real challenge; somewhat hard to manipulate
If you have never solved a 3x3 Rubik's Cube, I recommend trying that first before Meffert's Challenge dodecahedron. And if you're having problems with the 3x3, make sure you search for the solution and explanation on Youtube. You can solve that puzzle! Anyway, Meffert's Challenge is a very interesting little puzzle because it doesn't have the nice orderly rows and columns that the 3x3 has, but instead has "jagged" rows, or layers, which are the key to solving it. It took few days for my son to solve it. It was a lot of fun. He didn't rush, nor did he try to break a time record. And that is the key to keeping your dodecahedron is one piece. You see, it is not built with the highest quality design and materials, which means that if you force turns, it can easily pop apart. You have to be patient, turning when the little cubes are aligned. So far he has solved this puzzled many many times and nothing bad has happened. It has not popped apart. The face stickers have not peeled off -- not even close. I highly recommend this puzzle. It is a lot of fun.

Great "step-up" from 3x3 Rubik's cube.
This puzzle looks daunting, even to experienced cubers, but it is actually no more difficult to solve than a Rubik's 3x3....it just takes a little more time. Not quite the challenge I was looking for, but still an excellent product! As for the maneuverability of the puzzle: sides are not stiff at all, although could probably benefit from lubricating; pieces haven't popped out yet; stickers are very sturdy, haven't peeled yet, and I don't think they will any time soon; edges catch, so it locks kinda frequently- basically all sides need to be exactly in place before you can rotate another side (aka, it doesn't cut corners at all).

Pretty good puzzle for the price.
Pros: Puzzle turns pretty easily, and doesn't tend to jam up when things aren't perfectly aligned.Cons: The stickers begin to peel up after you use it for a while, and then it feels like it has some kind of skin disorder. I wish they would use stickers that don't have the clear coat plastic cover on them. Not a bad puzzle, but I would recommend getting the version with the tiles instead of the stickers.

Great product, fun for adults
I put this at my desk and I work with many highly educated professionals who can't figure it out except 1 person. In reality, it's the same concept of the standard rubik's cube but it's entertaining how mind blowing the reaction to this thing sitting solved at my desk. There is a slight noise coming from the center of the cube like something is loose but it hasn't effected the turning of the dodecahedron.

Low Quality
When i first got this puzzle it was good. However, on about my third or fourth solve, the plastic on the purple side stripped and whenever I turned that side to the left it would loosen and fall off. It is very annoying. Also the stickers are low quality and placed horribly on the minx. In low light it is hard to tell apart the the 3 different green and the turquoise colors.

My 13 year old son's favorite cube
My 13 year old son loves this cube. He is proficient at solving it but never gets tired of playing with it. Great for a car trip. Keeps him busy for a long time. I would highly reccomend it if your son or daughter is into "cubing"

The cube is great, everything works fine and turns very smoothly. The only thing I changed was the stickers, but this is true of basically any cube/similar puzzle (the factory stickers usually fall off, not a big deal)...I put tiles on that I got from Meffert's site. Have not had any issues...great product.
