Durable, tough & very well built
Bought this to house my Yoocaa hydroponics setup. This is my first attempt with this hobby, so thought I'd go the whole hog & house it properly. You start off by building the surprisingly sturdy frame (5 minutes) then just open out the cover & fit the frame inside (5 minutes) & that's it. Very good quality material is used throughout, there's an adjustable ventilation hatch and an opening for the power cord at the back & heavy duty zips on the front to open it up to access your hydro setup. Easily big enough for a 12 pod system & enough height to allow the lighting rig to be raised to its full extent. Given the fact it is effectively a sealed environment, it keeps the temperature constant and the silvered lining concentrates the lighting - also, the footprint is big enough for a couple of additional small seed trays to go inside to benefit from the hydro setup's lighting as well. For the price (just on £30 at the time of writing) I think this is a no-brainer if you've invested in one of these setups.

Good initial quality
The reflective-blackout tent fabric is thinner than description makes it seem, but sturdy and not prone to ripping. It appears to be hand-sewn, but other than zippers noticeably wavering from a perfect laser-straight line, workmanship is good and a bit rumply from folding for shipping. It comes as a single piece, including a closed bottom, and requires wrapping around the frame through an appreciably narrower door. The framework is made of some sort of stiff plastic or fiberglass tubing, with a light, metallic 'ping' to it when it strikes something. Corner joints appear to be ABS plastic. Most of the struts came in two pieces that you join in the middle with a short, wider tube. Assembly takes some care and patience, rushing may result in breakage. I carefully rotated the struts with gentle force (ooh, baby!) into the connectors instead of hammering. Once connected and seated, they don't like to hold a decent friction grip, so a little duct tape was needed to hold them in place because, you know, duct tape... Frame assembly was relatively straightforward and simple, the enclosed instructions clear enough to follow. Coercing the tent around the completed frame required further care, caution, and gentle force. The end result is pretty much as described, if you take it slow and know what you are doing. While many low ratings are about breakage and tearing, and hand-sewing might account for some complaints about product quality, my impression is that some folks were getting too rough with materials that are not military-grade. I installed an overhead LED grow light that I had previously used elsewhere, and had to construct a vent above its cooling fan in the zippered flap. This involved piercing the fabric and cutting a hole for the vent and a louvred blackout cover. The fabric requires a sharp needle or razor knife to penetrate, and kitchen shears to cut. It is stiff, feels almost like sheet metal but with the cutting effort of a cardboard box. I expect it is not returnable... A nice, compact grow box that is suitable for germination and for growing small herbs. Basil, so far. I give it an initial 5 stars, and I guess I will have to cross my fingers about how well they hold up over time.
